Dear Parents and Guardians,

As we conclude week six of learning on the Ledge, I would like to take this time to say thank you. Thank you for your continued communication regarding virtual learning, your partnership in creating successful environments to support student learning, and thoughts of community safety when making decisions of attending school. Please find expectations for teacher and parent responsibilities, elementary level virtual synchronous learning expectations and a parent/teacher conference survey. Only together will we find face to face learning on the Ledge possible. United to a common goal we’ll find success for the children.

In support to move us closer to excellence in virtual learning while face to face learning is occurring, I would like to outline teacher responsibility and parent responsibilities for the virtual classroom.

  • Teachers are expected to teach the entirety of the class period.
  • If technology issues arise during class, parents will need to help their child(ren) troubleshoot.
    • To keep the flow of class moving for all, if something is missed due to technology issues, the student and teacher can connect at a later time if needed. Remember, recorded lessons are always an option!
  • To maximize a successful student learning opportunity, especially in grades P3-4th, have an adult present so as to adjust assignments and discuss the learning with the student when necessary.
  • Teachers will be available to answer emails and phone call communications at the beginning of the day and the end of the day, not during lessons or when students are present.
  • It is the student’s responsibility to be ready to learn whether live face to face or at home virtually.
  • Homework is to be turned in through Google Classroom.

Parent Connectors - Join us Today

Thank you so much to all of our SMSA families who have returned their Parent Connectors Volunteer Form!  We are currently working on entering all of the information into our file. If you haven’t returned it and would like to receive our email updates, please email either Andrea Nuss, or Katie Mathos, and let us know. Thank you so much!  Once we have it all entered, you will be receiving an email from us about any updates we have to share.

After reevaluating our current pandemic, it is in the best interest of our SMSA families that our annual Trunk or Treat event will not be held this year. We are very sad as we know this event is loved by our children and always a very well attended event.

If you have any questions, please contact either Andrea Nuss, or Katie Mathos,
