Sister Judith Schmidt, CSA, Benefit Program

In 2011, St. Mary’s Springs Academy and Marian University forged a new partnership, when the Sister Judith Schmidt, CSA, Benefit Program was created. Sister Judith proudly served as the first President of the combined St. Mary’s Springs High School and FACES System now known as St. Mary’s Springs Academy. It was her goal to celebrate our joint heritage with Marian University, better serve our community and advance our shared goal of providing Catholic educational excellence in Fond du Lac and beyond.

The Sister Judith Schmidt, CSA, Benefit Program, still in effect today, provides educational discounts to faculty, staff, and students served by SMSA and Marian. Additionally,

the affiliation serves to expand the reach of the partnership by researching and developing other

avenues that will benefit the joint systems through educational enhancement, cost-saving

measures, servant leadership development and celebrating our Catholic identity. Through this program, Marian University provides the Sr. Judith Schmidt Award, an automatic 50% tuition discount, annually to SMSA eligible graduating seniors, continuing their students at Marian.

Dual Credit Program

Students who are academically qualified and accepted by Marian University may receive both high school and college credit in three subject areas taught by SMSA high school teachers who are also adjunct faculty of Marian University: English, Mathematics, and Natural Science.

The college credit received may be transferable to other colleges and universities, and students may earn up to 20 Marian University credits before they graduate. For more information regarding eligibility and cost our Marian University Dual Credit program, please review the SMSA Curriculum Guide.
