Tuition Assistance Information for Applicants

St. Mary’s Springs Academy seeks to provide tuition assistance to those students in grades PreK-12 whose family can provide documentation of need.

We believe enrollment in our school should not be limited to families who are able to pay full tuition. Our tuition assistance program enables us to assist deserving students who could not otherwise afford to attend. The tuition assistance program helps to achieve social and economic diversity within our school community. This goal is an integral and respected part of our school’s philosophy, operating budget, and fundraising objectives. SMSA is not able to meet 100% of demonstrated need for each applicant, and frequently, the number of qualified applicants exceeds the tuition assistance resources of the school. Therefore, there is no guarantee that every qualified applicant will receive tuition assistance.

Tuition assistance is offered as a reduction of full tuition, which is determined through an analysis of family financial need. Student employment, academic merit scholarships and athletic awards are not offered.

SMSA uses a third party company, TADS, to assess need. The Application cost is $34. Both new and existing families can apply for tuition assistance via TADS.

Herb Herro Scholarship

The Herb Herro Scholarship, which began in 2004, is offered to current 8th grade SMSA students, who intend to continue their SMSA journey at the high school. The scholarship is financial need based, meaning that students/families must demonstrate financial need by way of completing the TADS (tuition assistance) application, in addition to completing this essay/application. The award is a four-year commitment, typically anywhere from ¼ -scholarship to a full-scholarship each year. Recipients are required to maintain a quarterly 3.0 grade point, and complete 20 annual hours of community service to maintain their award from year to year.
