FROM THE OFFICE OF STEVE KELNHOFER, PREK - 8TH GRADE PRINCIPAL

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Thank you for partnering with us in making virtual conferences a success! I appreciate your willingness and flexibility to do what it takes to keep our staff and students healthy. I will be sending out a survey next week for some additional feedback on how you feel conferences went for your family.

The students have been doing a FANTASTIC job wearing their masks and practicing social distancing. I am proud of each and every one of them for their ability to adapt to all the changes this year. Help me in thanking them and keep encouraging them to keep up the good work!

God Bless,

Steven Kelnhofer

Traffic Flow

P3 – 5th Grade Levels

Morning Routine:

All parents with children P3 – 5 will use the SOUTH (GREEN) lot.

Use the “Hug N Go” zones around the perimeter of the parking lot (sidewalks line the entire drop zone east and west side.) Please pull up as far as you can in the entire “Hug N Go” lane to create a flow in our traffic pattern. Parents, please stay in your car if you intend to use this lane. Only use parking stalls if you intend to walk your child into school.

Older siblings (grades 6-12) may be dropped off at this lot, but will be asked to use the footpath along the front western edge of the building, entering the North Hall entrance.

Afternoon Routine:

P3 and K4 students, who are not attending afternoon Enrichment, will be walked down to the South Hall lobby and brought outside to meet parents.

Families, whose youngest child(ren) is in grades K-5, use the South lot for pick up.

Use the “Hug N Go” zones around the perimeter of the parking lot (sidewalks line the entire drop zone east and west side.) Please pull up as far as you can in the entire “Hug N Go” lane to create a flow in our traffic pattern. If you are in this lane stay in your car and follow your family’s plan on where to meet you. The animal signs around the “Hug N Go” lane are perfect for your family’s planning. Only use parking stalls if you intend to walk your child(ren) to your vehicle. DO NOT PICK UP YOUR CHILD(REN) IN THE DRIVING LANES. This is a safety concern, and I ask all of us to support safety.

Thank you.

6-8 Grade Levels

Morning Routine:

All parents with children in grades 6-8 will use the North Office entrance to enter school.

Afternoon Routine:

Please arrive after 3:10 p.m. to let the 3:00 p.m. traffic release. Please feel free to wait in the teacher’s south parking lot if you are an early bird for pick up. If you are picking up children who are older (grades 6-8) they will walk through the grade school and exit through the South Hall doors, meeting you in the North or South parking lot. Grades 6-8 are encouraged to use the western path alongside school to be picked up in the North Hall parking lot. This will reduce congestion in the South parking lot.

God Bless,

Steven Kelnhofer

News and Information

Reminder: Cell Phone Policy for 6th-8th Grade

As we begin the year, we just wanted to send a reminder about our current cell phone policy. Each grade 6-8 teacher has taken time to review this policy with their homeroom students this week so that everyone is aware of our expectations regarding cell phones at school.

Students are allowed to bring cell phones and/or other electronic devices to school, but they must be kept in their lockers, turned off, and stored at their own risk during the school day. Grades 6-8 may check their phones during passing time at their locker. Students are not allowed to use cell phones during school hours unless granted permission to use them by a staff/faculty member.

Any devices taken away by a teacher or staff member during school hours will be placed in the South Hall school office and must be picked up by a parent/guardian.

We thank you in advance for your support and cooperation in reinforcing this with your child. Our home and school partnership is an integral part of providing an amazing learning environment for all of our students.
