2018 - 2019 Staffing Updates

St. Mary’s Springs Academy is excited to announce that Kristin (Goebel) Zitlow ’00, has been hired as the annual fund & special events coordinator of the Academy. Kristin is a native of Fond du Lac and a proud graduate of St. Mary’s Springs Academy, class of 2000.  She attended Carroll University after high school and graduated with a Business Administration and Entrepreneurship degree with an emphasis in Marketing in 2004.

 

As part of her professional career she, along with her mother, Helen Goebel, owned and operated Saavy Boutique for over 8 years.  During this time she was able to build relationships and work closely with local businesses and community members. Kristin is also an active member of Sigma, which is a non-profit women’s organization, dedicated to the general improvement of the Fond du Lac community.  

 

In her new role, Kristin will be responsible for managing all fundraising events, as well as engaging and stewarding alumni, families and donors for the annual fund. Kristin’s positivity and strategic thinking make her a wonderful asset to the advancement team! She will be working alongside Chris Gilles, now serving as the Donor & Alumni Relations/Scrip Coordinator and Katie Tank, Chief Development Officer.

 

Kristin is excited to join the SMSA family and is dedicated to building a lasting legacy not only as an alumna but also a proud SMSA parent.  Kristin and her husband, Ryan, are blessed with three children, Jayden, Brantley and Mayah. Jayden is a current SMSA student, graduating class of 2028.  

 

Please join me in welcoming Kristin to the team! Her first day is Monday, September 17, 2018.

NFL Blitz Cards Extended - September 10

Didn’t have time to sell those NFL Blitz Cards?  No worries!  The deadline has been extended to Monday, September 10th.  Sold cards and money can be returned to the North Office or Scrip Office during open hours. 

 

Don’t forget – there are individual AND class prizes on the line!


 

SEE Training - September 10th or 12th

There are some upcoming SEE (Safeguarding Environment Education) training sessions.  This training is required by the Archdiocese of Milwaukee to volunteer at any SMSA function/event that entails working with students directly, such as field trips or helping out in the classroom.

  • Varsity Football game at Fruth Field vs. Omro:  7:00pm
Saturday, September 22nd
  • Homecoming Dance: 8:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. (Baker Gym)
*Times subject to change based on flow of the day
Parents/guests are welcome to attend all scheduled Homecoming activities to join in the spirit and festivities of this great week.
More detailed information regarding Homecoming (dress up days, dance information, etc) will be shared next week.

First PPA Meeting - September 19th

Please join us on Wednesday, September 19th, for the first meeting of PPA (Parents for the Performing Arts) for the 2018 – 2019 school year.  We will meet in Lauby Lounge (Teacher’s Lounge) at 5:30 p.m.

 

Please note the change in usual meeting place due to the Annual Spaghetti Dinner that will be going on at the same time.

 

PPA supports our arts programming in a variety of ways including volunteer support during performances, support Solo & Ensemble, chaperoning trips etc.  Additionally, PPA fundraisers to support the special needs and requests of our arts program.


Welcome Back Spaghetti Dinner - September 19th

Please join us for the 5th annual Welcome Back Spaghetti Dinner (sponsored by SMSA Grandparents Club), Wednesday, September 19th, at the SMSA Cafeteria from 5 – 7:30 p.m.  All SMSA families, grandparents and others interested in starting the school year off with great fellowship are invited to attend.

 

Tickets are $5 for adults and Grades 9-12, $2 for grades K-8 and kids 4K and younger are free!  A maximum family ticket is only $20!  Purchase your tickets by Friday, September 14th in the Scrip Office.

First All System Mass - September 21st

All family and friends are welcome to join us as we travel to Holy Family Church  (271 Fourth Street Way) to celebrate our first Mass as a System for the 2018 – 2019 school year on Friday, September 21st.


The 3rd Annual Athletic Hall of Fame - Dinner Reservation Deadline September 21st
