Parent Volunteerism

SMSA launched a new volunteer program in 2017, that requests every family to volunteer a minimum of four (4) hours each year to support the needs of the System. Volunteerism is important for several reasons, a) it helps us stabilize tuition rates, by not having to hire staff or offer stipends to cover these volunteer “posts” and b) its a celebration of our community, a great way to support the System and allows for the opportunity to engage with other families/staff.

Additionally, parents of student athletes (grades 5-12) are required to volunteer for concessions, ticket sales, etc. for sporting events. The Athletic Booster Club (ABC) request that every parent volunteers for a minimum of two (2) events throughout the year.

If you have any questions or suggestions for volunteer activities, please contact Jenny Baker at jbaker@smsacademy.org.
