International Catholic Speaker, Matt Fradd to Speak - October 4th

You are invited to join us as Matt Fradd will give his presentation titled, “God, The Universe and Everything” on Thursday, October 4, 2018 at 7 p.m. at St. Mary Church (59 E. Merrill Avenue).  This event will take place in lieu of the Cor Jesu event.

 

Matt Fradd speaks to tens of thousands of people every year.  He is the best-selling author of several books.  Matt earned his master’s and undergraduate degrees in philosophy from Holy Apostles College.  His podcasts, Love People Use Things and Pints With Aquinas are listened to by tens of thousands of people every month.  Matt lives with his wife, Cameron, and their children in Georgia.

SMSA Flu Clinic - Consent Form Due October 22nd

The Fond du Lac County Health Department will be offering flu vaccines at SMSA on Thursday, November 1, 2018  from 1:00-3:30 p.m. The flu vaccine is recommended every year by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).  This program is provided at no cost to you. Students in grades 4K-12 will be able to receive the flu shot during the school day without a parent being present; if you feel your child will be cooperative.

 

The letter from FDL County and below.  Copies will also be available at both North and South Hall offices. The signed consent needs to be returned to school no later than Monday, October 22, 2018  if you would like your child to participate in the clinic.

Please join us as we celebrate Mass together, as a System, on Friday October 12th from 8:45 – 9:45 a.m. at Holy Family Church (271 Fourth Street Way).


Big Money Raffle Ticket Distribution - October 17th & 18th

Big Money Raffle is one of only three major fundraisers for St. Mary’s Springs Academy.  This fundraiser is for every family from pre-K through 12th grade.  Since this fundraiser started, Big Money Raffle has contributed over $2,000,000 to the System.  For more information on this fundraiser, please click here.

 

All profits go toward the operational expenses of SMSA and help keep tuition costs consistent within the region.

 

Tickets will be distributed during your child/children’s Teacher Conferences on Wednesday, October 17th and Thursday, October 18th, depending on which day your conferences are scheduled.

Book Fair - October 16th, 17th & 18th

Our fall book fair is fast approaching!  On October 15 – 18, 2018 we will be transforming the Multipurpose Room into our Enchanted Book Fair.  Volunteers are needed for various sales shifts, as well as set up/tear down.  Training on site, easy to use scanners and great opportunity to get to know other parents.

 

SEE training is not a requirement as one will not be working one on one with children.

Parents of Athletes

The rainy weather that we have been experiencing this fall has resulted in many athletic schedule changes.  This is just a reminder that all changes to the Athletic Schedule can be found by clicking here to visit the Rschool website.  

 

We also encourage you to sign up for Notify Me by clicking here.  This will allow you to sign up for automatic notifications for whichever sports you choose. You can receive those notifications through email or text.

Living Nativity - Tickets on Sale Now

On Sunday, December 2nd, at 4 p.m. and then again at 7 p.m., The Living Nativity a re-telling of the Christmas story, will be presented at Holy Family Catholic Church.  Enjoy a Christmas experience for all ages with live animals, biblical characters and the greatest story ever told.  Sheep, goats, donkeys and camels along with inspiring music will make for a truly memorable and unique experience. An indoor petting zoo will follow the story of the birth of Jesus and also an opportunity to have your family photo taken with the Christmas animals.

 

Tickets are on sale, and are $10/person; children 2 and under are free.  Tickets are available at Holy Family Parish as well as the North and South offices at SMSA.

National Honor Society Students offer Tutoring

Members of the SMSA National Honor Society are now offering tutoring to any SMSA student daily from 7:00 – 7:45 a.m. in room 3037. 

  • Science help- Mondays and Wednesdays
  • English help- Tuesdays and Thursdays
  • Math help- everyday of the week.

 

In addition, tutors will be paired with students who need assistance during their study halls. 

 

Students should stop by room 3037 to sign up for a tutoring session during the day or after school. See Mr. Thompson in room 3037 or call 920-322-8016 if you have any questions.

Parents of Performing Arts (PPA) and Athletic Booster Club (ABC) Upddates

ABC Update

Your Athletic Booster Club is off to a good start for the 2018-2019 school year.  Many thanks to all who contributed to the Friends of the Ledgers campaign, concessions workers, ticket takers and those stepping up as officers, coordinators or volunteering in some other way.  

 

Join us at our next meeting on Wednesday, October 10th starting at 6 p.m. at the high school.  We will be reviewing requests to provide funding to various sports teams and preparing for playoffs.
