News and Information

SMSA Literary Magazine, The Pickaxe

Calling all aspiring Artists and Authors!

St. Mary’s Springs Academy announces a student-led publication, the SMSA Literary Magazine, The Pickaxe, which celebrates student and staff voices through fiction, poetry, photography and art.  We encourage students to apply for this unique opportunity as a way to share your artistic and literary talent and gain publication experience.  Students in elementary and middle school can submit for a chance to appear in our “Aspiring Authors/Artists” section.

Students can submit fiction/non-fiction writings, poetry, photography and art to be featured in the magazine and distributed to the student body, as a celebration of our student talent and a way for students to gain writing, editing, graphic design, and publication experience.

The submission window is open from now until Friday, March 15, 2019. Please click here to submit today!

Best regards,

The Editors-in-Chief (Ariel Feucht and Julianna Loehr) and the Pickaxe Staff
