FROM THE OFFICE OF EAMONN O'KEEFFE, 9TH - 12TH GRADE PRINCIPAL

Congratulations Class of 2021!

The Class of 2021 has demonstrated scholarship, personality, championship grit and world class resilience during a global pandemic that altered five of their final eight high school quarters.  Our seniors have led daily life at the Springs with a steady,  positive spirit even while many traditions were taken from them in a challenging year impacted by COVID-19 limitations.  These proud Ledgers have embraced academics, athletics, service on campus and in the community, and performance in the arts.  They have kept the faith, supported one another, and kept their eyes focused on creating their future life after SMSA.  We are proud of their many collective and individual achievements and look forward to keeping updated on their future successes.

So, on Sunday, May 23rd, amidst pomp and circumstances and with heartfelt joy and gratitude, we release another well-formed and well-educated class of Ledgers into a world that needs their gifts and talents more now than ever.  I am confident that they will each carry forward the Ledger Way to wherever life leads them next.  Their lives will surely impact others as they share the light of faith, love of learning, servant leadership, respect for all people, and a sense of responsibility that builds authentic community

Thank you Class of 2021.  I am personally grateful for the many ways you have enriched my days as your principal.  May God continue to bless your health. leadership and your goodwill!  You have made your mark on SMSA and will be missed next year on the Ledge.  We will remember your many contributions and your Class spirit.  We will continue to pray for your success.  As you move forward, we expect that you will make every day count, as you have learned to do on the Ledge! You are Ledgers for life, and SMSA will always welcome you home.

Our Lady of the Ledge, pray for us!

Be well, God bless.

Eamonn O’Keeffe, Principal Grades 9-12

2021-22 Student Schedules

  1. Thanks to parents, guardians and students for their good partnership in the process of course selection for 2021-22.  Development of a Master Schedule is inherently complicated, and can be even more tricky in a small school environment that has natural limitations on personnel, space and time.  This process of building a Master Schedule has included January homeroom presentations to all students by the Counseling Office; February and March completion and submission of Course Selection Worksheets (including student identification of alternate elective courses in case of schedule conflicts); and painstaking repeated modeling and testing various versions of schedule configurations in order to minimize schedule conflicts.

For the past two months, our Coordinator of System Master Scheduling and Records, Mr. Jacob Norlander has been working with the Counseling Office and Administration to develop, model, test and finalize a high school Master Schedule for next year.  I am pleased to report that the 2021-22 high school Master Schedule has been approved.  Therefore, student schedules may now be shared.  Students who are entering grade 10, 11 and 12 this fall may log into Skyward on May 26 to view their 2021-22 schedule.  For students who are entering grade 9 in the fall, a special packet of information that includes your schedule will be mailed to you by the end of May.  Incoming freshman who may have a Skyward account already will be able to see their 2021-22 schedule.
