As I have mentioned in a previous eLedger, St. Mary’s Spring Academy is excited to introduce Standards Based Grading in grades kindergarten through 3rd grade for the 2021-22 school year! Standards Based Grading (SBG) is a best practice initiative the Archdiocese of Milwaukee is leading all of its schools towards implementing in the coming school year.  

Today is the second installment of our six session video series.  Please click here to gain more understanding of the influences SBG will have on students, teachers and parents.  The video also unpacks the timeframe of SBG for SMSA. 

The objective of the video series is to educate parents in short videos to unpack SBG.  The series intends to deliver an education and mind-shift to understand SBD, why SBD is best practice, and how SBG functions with the parent and teacher supporting the student’s journey.

Grades 3 – 8 will begin practice testing for the Forward test on Monday, March 29, 2021.  Forward testing will begin On Wednesday, April 7, 2021 and conclude on Friday, April 16, 2021.  Please partner with us and have your child attend school in-person during Forward testing.

In partnership with Kwik Trip, our Wisconsin Business World program launched business-focused competitions open to all 6-12th grade students across the state. The project-based competitions will focus on innovation and production.
