Happy New Year Parents,

As we gather back to school after celebrating Christmas with our families, we continue to
celebrate the Christmas season at SMSA. On Friday, January 5th, 2018, our third graders will
be performing an Epiphany play after our all school Mass at Holy Family. Mass begins at 8:45
a.m., and the Epiphany play will begin shortly after Mass. Feel free to come and partake in
Mass and enjoy the short program afterwards.

As a reminder, students will be going outside if the wind-chill is above zero degrees. Please
help them to be thoughtful in bringing appropriate winter gear to enjoy winter on the ledge.

The second quarter is coming to a conclusion on January 18th. Skyward is a wonderful
communication tool to stay up-to-date with how your child/children are achieving in school for
the current quarter. We will be sending out electronic report cards again this quarter midway
through the following week. Please take time to electronically sign your child/children’s report
card.

Elementary News (P3 – Grade 5) & Childcare
Thank you for all your support and partnership as 2017 came to a close. Let this coming year of
2018 continue to build our fellowship, family, and faith.

• GRADES: Grades K –5th
• Where: St. Mary Springs’ Hutter Gymnasium (High School Gym)
• CAMP GOAL: Our goal is to provide quality instruction of the fundamentals of dance for
  grade school participants. Camp is open to any grade school student, from any school.
  The emphasis of our camp will be routines to be performed at halftime. The
  performance will be that evening at halftime of the Spring’s basketball game. The game
  starts at 7:20 p.m. at the high school gym. As always, participants will get into the game
  free, but parents must pay. If you can’t make the game, that’s okay too. You can just
  come out for the fun of camp.
• CAMP INCLUDES: *Camp T-shirts *Dance routine *Basic skills
• REGISTRATION: Registration deadline is Jan 10, 2018
• CAMP COST: $16.00 camp and t-shirt

***We will be having a cheer uniform and pom sale to sell old uniform pieces we no longer use. This will
start at 12:00 p.m. after the pre-show.

• The “After School” program welcomes a new member to its team. Please welcome Isabel Simich to after school care. She will be helping in the after school program and is looking forward to getting to know you and your child/children.

• Before/After school care will be closed on January 19th.
