Message from the Principal

Dear Parents,

Thank you for celebrating the 100th day of school with SMSA.  It was wonderful to see students dressed up as if they were 100 years of age. The creativity was 100% off the charts!  It was a fun day to be at school!

As a reminder, next week we’ll be celebrating Valentine’s Day on the Feb. 13th due to Ash Wednesday being Feb. 14th.  Please look for communication from classroom teachers regarding further information on classroom parties.

Conference night was a success as an opportunity to keep building the partnership between parents and school.  Our teachers and staff are open to having a scheduled meeting or conference with parents anytime during the school year.

As we make our way through the cold and snow of winter in Wisconsin, we want to keep safety at the forefront of our minds.  We ask that students refrain from playing on our back playgrounds without supervision after school.  The “kiss and drop lane” still has to be be used as designed.  Please do not park in the white drop off lane if you attend to take your child/children into school.  Use only the kiss and drop lane to drop off your child/children and not the inner drive lane.  It’s not designed for a drop off and is not safe or efficient.  Thank you for doing your part keeping us all safe and drop off as effective and efficient.

God Bless,
Mr. Kelnhofer

Upcoming Events/News

Attention parents:

Please make sure that your child/children are waiting for you at pick up either on the sidewalk or inside the building.  We have had several students climbing on snow hills and playing in areas that are unsafe during after hours.  We appreciate the help in instructing your child/children to make safe choices.

Without further ado…congratulations to Grade 2 for winning a Jeans Day!

Grade 5 came in close 2nd and Grade 4 was right behind in 3rd!

Thank you again for all of your efforts to help make Catholic Schools Week successful!

Book Swap

Does your child have a pile of already read books sitting in their room? Do you wish you had the opportunity to exchange them for more exciting reading materials!? Then, the Book Swap is for you!

February 26th – 28th students may bring in any “gently used” paperback books to their classroom teacher for donation. The maximum number of books a student may exchange in is 3. If you chose to bring in more than 3, that’s ok!  The leftover books will be donated to the classroom library and St. Vincent de Paul.  We will not be able to accept books after Wednesday, February 28th.

Then on Thursday, March 1st, students may come to the multipurpose room and select any “gently used” books of their choice based on the number of books they turned in.

Book Criteria:
Please make choices carefully before bringing in books. Books will only be accepted under the following guidelines:
Books must be appropriate for grades K-5 only!
Books must be in gently used condition: cover on, no rips, tears, or bent edges.
Books with coloring or writing in them will not be accepted.
Coloring books, activity books, and sticker books will not be accepted.
Please note that the selection of books available will be based on books donated. If you’d like to volunteer with the Book Swap please click this link below:
