FROM THE OFFICE OF STEVE KELNHOFER, PREK - 8TH GRADE PRINCIPAL

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Thank you for partnering with us to make an awesome Catholic Schools Week!  It is exciting to see how excited the students are to give to the food pantry, celebrating and learning about our Nation, community, vocations and each other as well as dressing up in special ways throughout the week.  SMSA, within a family atmosphere, continues to offer an impactful and special education to the students it serves.  Our education is at its very best when all stakeholders are focused on our mission oriented outcome.  St. Mary’s Springs Academy, rooted in Christ’s teaching, academic excellence, and service to Church and community, prepares students to meet global challenges and become leaders for tomorrow!

As always, I appreciate your support and understanding of the responsibility in partnering with us to keep learning happening on the Ledge.

God Bless,

Steven Kelnhofer

Valentine’s Parties – Spread the LOVE, just not the germs! Valentine’s Day is a perfect time for an extra boost of togetherness – masked and socially distanced, of course.

We’re asking all of our Ledgers to adhere to the following Valentine’s Day Safety Protocols:

  • Grades P3- 5th grade please have your child bring their valentines to school on Monday, February 8.
  • To support the mitigation of Covid-19, we will let them sit for 72 hours before the students open the shared Valentines for each other.
  • Provide pre-packaged treats only.
  • If the Valentines you intend to share come with an envelope, please do not lick them shut but use a tuck or sticker method to seal them.
  • Valentines will be passed out in an orderly fashion to limit exposure.

This is a nice reminder to be grateful for even the very little things. Thank you for your continued efforts and attention to safety. We’re in this together!

February 5:  Mid-year assessment results.  MAPS testing for grades 2-8 in reading and math results will be coming home.  F&P mid year reading results will be coming home.

February 10:  Teacher or parent requested parent/teacher conferences from 4:00 to 6:30.

February 12 & 15, 2021:  No school for students on both days.  Teachers will report to campus on February 15th.

Ledger Learning Guide

Parents are always encouraged to check the SMSA Ledger Learning Guides Home Page to see weekly learning targets, resources and expectations in every course.  Parental partnership in helping students  stay organized and focused on learning is always appreciated.

We Need Your Help- Ledgerfest Class Auction Baskets - due February 26th

SMSA families will be creating grade level themed baskets again this year as part of the silent auction for Ledgerfest that will be in April. If you would like to contribute towards your child(ren) grade level basket, please send your cash contribution in a sealed envelope with your child’s name, grade level and Ledgerfest Donation written on it. Your children can then give it to their homeroom teacher or drop off in the North or South office. If you send in a check, please make it payable to Andrea Nuss.

*Please note that if you have more than one child attending SMSA, you can send it in one envelope but write each child’s name and the amount you are donating for them, along with their grade level on the envelope. Thank you so much for your support with this portion of the silent auction.

Listed below are the point people of who’s organizing the basket for that specific grade level and their contact information. Please feel free to reach out to them with any questions.
