Message from the Principal

Season Greetings Parents,

     Students grades K-5 need to report to the lower playground behind school if they arrive before 7:45 am unless they are let inside due to weather conditions.  This is for their safety because this is where the supervision is located.   Thank you for helping keep your student(s) safe.

Our Early Childhood Christmas Program is December 19th from 8:15 – 8:50 in Baker gym.  The K – 4th grade Christmas Program will be performed on December 19th at 12:45 pm and 6:30 pm in the Hutter gym.  I hope to see you at these events as they add to your Advent season and help us prepare for Christmas.

Dear Families,

During the season of Advent we are mindful of our waiting for Jesus’ birth. While we are anxiously waiting, we are also aware of the many ways in which we can prepare our hearts to welcome Jesus. The students have used their God-given gifts and talents to create original Christmas cards for Levi Schwantes and his family.

The K-5 students will be enjoying a movie, popcorn, and wearing pj’s on Friday, December 22^nd. The students can bring in their own 20 ounce or less drink from home. A free will donation of $3.00 is appreciated.  All the proceeds will go to help Levi and his family. All money needs to be turned in to your child’s homeroom teacher by Friday, December 22^nd. If your family is unable to contribute at this time, your child will still be able to participate. Please read below to learn more about Levi.

Levi Schwantes, son of Karissa and Dan, was born with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome. This means that his left atrium and left ventricle are underdeveloped and blood cannot get pumped to his body correctly. Levi has had 2 of 3 open heart surgeries in his first three months of life to re-route the blood flow. He may need more surgeries during his life. He requires very extensive medication, around the clock care, feeding schedule, and many, many appointments at Children’s Hospital.

Despite all Levi has been through, he is incredibly loving and happy. He melts the hearts of everybody he meets with his gigantic smile.

All free will donations will benefit Levi and go towards medical bills, living expenses for a one-income household, and a savings account for Levi for his future medical expenses that he will have during his lifetime.

• A wonderful way to communicate your needs is by continuing to use the monthly calendar.  Thank you for being active in this process during the first quarter of the school year.
• NHS students will be in after school care on Tuesdays and Thursdays to help with any homework students may have to complete.
• The students in childcare love to be artistic. We are running low on art supplies such as markers, crayons, paints, paper and colored pencils. Any art supply donations would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

• Part Time: Mary’s Springs Academy is seeking individuals who desire an opportunity to work in a supervisory role with children 4 years old through 8th grade. Applicants must be flexible, willing to work as team members, to collaborate with colleagues, and they must complete the Safe Environment Education training.   A part-time (10-15 hrs.) position requires availability from 3:30 p.m.-6 p.m. (Mon.-Fri.) most days.
