From the Office of Steve Kelnhofer, PreK - 8th Grade Principal

Dear Parents/Guardians,

It’s amazing to see all the students’ smiles and the joy their return to the Ledge brings to our SMSA community. The students’ smiles were radiant and their energy for being at school was rewarding. One could say that we are off to a wonderful start on our journey together. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for choosing to send your child(ren) to SMSA. Together in partnership, the children will grow and fulfill their purpose and mission for which they are intended.

Safety
Please take time to further understand our drop off and pick up procedure this year. We need everyone to do their part to keep children safe. We all work together and be mindful of safety around our SMSA community in and outside of school. Please drive “phone free” and slow down on campus grounds. SMSA asks you to use the crosswalks and designated walkways when on campus parking lots. Thank you for supporting our community and our safety culture. If you have questions, please ask. It’s okay to seek understanding.

South Hall Parking Lot Procedure
Please keep traffic moving through the Hug N’ Go zones around the perimeter of the south parking lot (sidewalks line the entire drop zone). If you intend to park, use the parking stalls, pulling all the way through facing the center aisle.

For the safety of the children (and your vehicles), please drive into a parking spot, pulling all the way through the stall, filling the lot from North to South. Vehicles should be facing the center aisle so you can drive forward to exit. If the lot becomes full, please use the Hug N’ Go zone, driving all the way around to the west side, to allow the most amount of vehicles to line up behind you.

Thank you for your continued partnership and support of SMSA! Please continue to read the eLedger as our main communication tool. Please ask your questions, because we are here to seek understanding and support you.

God Bless,
Steven Kelnhofer

2023 Christmas Card Fundraiser Recipient Nomination Form

A long-standing tradition at SMSA continues again this year with the Christmas Card Fundraiser! Students in Grades 4 through 8 will be creating and selling handmade Christmas Cards. These cards will be sold for $2.00 each by the St. Mary’s Springs families after all the masses at Holy Family Parish sites on Saturday, December 2nd and Sunday, December 3rd.

We will also be having a movie and popcorn afternoon, the day before Christmas Break, where students can bring in a donation to watch the movie of their choice and enjoy popcorn. Everyone will be able to participate, whether they bring in a donation or not.

All proceeds from the card sale and movie/popcorn will go to benefit a local child (Fond du Lac County) and his/her family, who is currently or has had medical concerns/conditions. Last year our Christmas Card Sale raised $4,805.00 for 11 year old Clay Bowe and his family.

If you know of a child and their family that you feel is deserving of a nomination, please fill out the form using the link provided below. All nominations will be reviewed and a recipient will be chosen by random draw.

Before/After School Care News

Before/After School Child Care

We are going into the second week of school. Child Care currently has a waitlist for before/after school care.  With an increase in enrollment this year the demand for child care has increased.

If you have a student/students in the before/after school care program please reach out to Ms. Tracey to confirm that you will be using the before/after school care program for the 2023-2024 school year.  Please email Ms. Tracey to confirm schedules, if you have not already done so, we want to provide available openings to families on the waitlist.
