FROM THE OFFICE OF STEVE KELNHOFER, PREK - 8TH GRADE PRINCIPAL

Dear Families,

I pray all of you are safe, healthy and well. Holy Week is upon us and provides us all a reminder of Christ’s love. From washing of feet, to the Last Supper, extended to His crucifixion and concluding with a glorious resurrection, the love and servant leadership for us is woven throughout the week.

Take the opportunity this week and follow Christ. Take time to help someone in need in a simple way. Eat together as a family and give thanks for each other. Forgive someone that has hurt you. Spread love by thanking someone for something you may have taken for granted that they do for you all the time. Rise up and find the simple miracles that are all around us.

Thank you for partnering with us on the journey of virtual learning. It’s new for all of us as a learning community. With patience, faith, communication, collaboration and understanding I have no doubt success will be achieved.

SMSA Virtual Learning Surveys

From the SMSA Leadership Team

SMSA Families,

We are asking all parents and students in grades 6-12 to take a couple of minutes of their time to complete a Virtual Learning Survey. Your responses are very important to us. With your feedback we will be able to provide an excellent educational experience during this period of social distancing and virtual learning.

Thank you in advance for your feedback!

News and Information

Musical Madness for Parents

Ms. Roltgen has designed an optional Musical Madness match-off for her music students and has invited parents and teachers to participate as well. Let’s build community in our time of social distancing as well as broaden our knowledge of musicals!

Once you sign up via email with Ms. Roltgen, every couple of days you will receive a google form with a link of 2 songs from musicals to listen to on YouTube. You then choose your favorite song and vote. The results will be tallied each week and in about a month, we will find out the winning musical selection. There are three brackets: 4th/5th Grade Bracket, 6 – 8 Grade Bracket and Parent/Teacher Bracket. Each bracket has the same songs, so this is a great activity to do with the whole family!

To sign up, please email Ms. Roltgen at aroltgen@smsacademy.org.  There is still time to vote for this week’s songs.
