Part Time Food Service Opening

Interested in a job that works with your family’s schedule? Food service has a part time position that doesn’t interfere with holidays, weekends or evenings. There is potential for additional hours and professional development. Please check out the listing by clicking here for more information.

Supply chain update

As school foodservice programs return to normal service and menus, schools are facing unprecedented issues with the supply chain that will cause us to alter our posted menus with little to no notice. We are working closely with our distributors and manufactures to secure both the food and supply items needed to support our programs. While it is our intention to serve the posted menu each day at school, supply issues will not make this possible throughout the school year until supply chain issues are rectified. We will always attempt to substitute the scheduled menu item with another that is as similar as possible to the extent we are able to do so.

This would also be a good time to have a conversation with your child(ren) encouraging them to make smart decisions on the line and take only what they will eat to help reduce food waste.  Daily we see unopened or untouched food being thrown into the garbage. It is hard to watch knowing that we may not be able to bring in that product again in the future due to supply issues.

Box Tops - Help us hit our goal!

Remember the years when we needed to remember to clip the BoxTops from participating packages and send them to school to earn 10 cents for each BoxTop?  Over the past years, we would generate close to $1,000 annually and our total earnings is $52,819.

Here’s where we are to-date:

  • 102 registered BoxTop app users for SMSA.  21 people used the app last month for a total of 78 submissions.
  • October’s submissions generated $15.50. This year SMSA has earned $98.60.

HOW CAN WE MAKE OUR GOAL OF $1,000?

  1.  If you haven’t downloaded the app, go to the App Store or Google Play.
  2. Review the complete list of eligible products on the BoxTops website.  For the most current list of products, visit BTFE.com.
  3. Scan your grocery receipts – online grocery receipts can also be submitted.
