Oktoberfest Next Weekend – October 9th

The wait is nearly over! Holy Family Catholic Community will host its Oktoberfest celebration on Saturday, October 9th. The event will begin with Mass in German and English celebrated by Bishop James Schuerman at 4:00 p.m. Festivities will follow in the Prayer Garden, and will include music by Dorf Kapelle, a petting zoo, yard games, visits from firetrucks and police cars, and a basket raffle. Brats, German potato salad, beer, tacos, and more available for purchase.

 

Those who would like to attend the Springs Homecoming Game prior to the event are invited to park at Holy Family Church and take a shuttle over to St. Mary’s Springs High School. Shuttles, provided by Holiday Automotive, will shuttle fans from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., and back to Holy Family Church from 3:00 to 4:30 p.m.


Building the Domestic Church Parent Sessions – First Session October 13th

All parents are invited to attend Holy Family’s Building the Domestic Church sessions, which will teach attendees how to take their Catholic faith beyond the church doors and into their home. The first session, set for 6:20 to 7:20 p.m. on Wednesday, October 13th at Sacred Heart Church, will discuss the topic “Living as a Catholic Family” presented by Fr. Ryan Pruess and Tom and Martha Endejan. Learn what the domestic church is, what it means to have a Catholic home, and what the role is of a Catholic parent at the session. 


Create Pillowcases for People in Need – October 21st and 28th

Join Holy Family Catholic Community as the parish works to make pillow cases for those in need with our program Creating ‘Cases. Volunteers of all ages are needed to cut fabric, design colorful combinations, pin, and sew pillows with sewing machines from 3:45 to 5:15 p.m. on October 21st and 28th at Holy Family Hall. Pillow cases will go to the “Sleep in Heavenly Peace” bed build, Salvation Army Warming Shelter, St. Katharine Drexel Shelter, and more.

Cor Jesu – October 7th

Come to Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, 705 Michigan Ave., North Fond du Lac, for a night of music, Adoration, Confession, and Mass at Cor Jesu on Thursday, October 7th. The night begins at 6:30 p.m. with Adoration and Confession. Mass will take place at 7:30 p.m.. Cor Jesu is held the first Thursday of the month. 


Rachel Rosary and Life Chain to be held this Saturday

In honor of Respect Life Month, Holy Family Catholic Community invites everyone to join in praying the Rachel Rosary at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 3rd at Sacred Heart Church. The rosary is an intercessory prayer for victims of abortion and post-abortion syndrome. Following the Rachel Rosary, you can participate in the Life Chain—an hour of silent prayer for the unborn and vulnerable—from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. on the corner of West Johnson Street and Peters Avenue. 


Let Holy Family send a care package to your student – Fill out Form by October 5th

Holy Family Catholic Community would like to send a care package to your college student! The parish wants them to know their Catholic family is supporting and praying for them while they are at college, participating in a year of service, or other immersive learning experience. Visit, form.jotform.com/acords/college, to fill out a form by Tuesday, October 5, 2021 and we will send out packages for them to enjoy!
