Safe Environment Education: What it means for me

The goal of the Safeguarding All of God’s Family program is to protect our children and all in the church family from abuse and related dangers.

Volunteers

(Catechists, athletic team coaches, Girl Scout leaders, chaperones for overnight activities, and other Church volunteers who have regular contact with children or youth)

  • Must read and sign the Code of Ethical Standards and the Mandatory Reporting Statement. (A copy of the signed Code will be kept on file at parish or school).
  • Will have a criminal background check completed.
  • All volunteers who have regular contact with children are required to attend a Safe Environment “Protecting God’s Children” awareness session. Please visit,  pre-register for the session to register before the event.
  • Important Notice: All participants must arrive on time and stay for the entire session.  Latecomers will not be admitted and those who leave early will not receive credit for attendance.

Safe Environment Education sessions are not appropriate for those under the age of 18 and still in high school.  Please do not bring your underage children unless the location specifies that child care is provided.

Free Webinar: “Parents, Kids and Porn: The Conversation”

Conversing with our kids about sex shouldn’t be defined by a single, stammering, “talk” when our child hits puberty.  Like the pursuit of purity itself, communication with our kids is lifelong.  This webinar will address how to initiate age-appropriate discussion free of fear and shame, how to approach technology, social media and pornography and ultimately how to create an atmosphere of openness and honesty in your home, where you are the go-to person for your kids.

Join the Religious Alliance Against Pornography for this free one hour webinar: Tuesday, May 15th at Noon EDT, and May 22 at 8 PM EDT.  Please click here to register.
