Help for the Homeless Drive – Please Donate by March 6th

In order to help local crisis organizations use their funds to provide staff, counseling, food, and shelter to those they serve, Holy Family Parish is collecting new hygiene and cleaning items for them through The Family radio station’s annual “Help for the Homeless” hygiene drive. Most urgently needed items are laundry soap, kitchen size trash bags, shampoo, cleaning supplies, diapers, toilet tissue, and feminine care. Your donations will remain in this community. 

 

Please place your donations in the “Help for the Homeless” collection box located at Holy Family church sites by Sunday, March 6th.

This is Home” Series, For Families – March 2nd (Ash Wednesday)

Families are encouraged to participate in the Archdiocese of Milwaukee’s “This is Home” series. The series is a resource for families to connect with what happens at Mass on Sundays to everyday life in the home through fun family activities, family prayer and family scripture study. 

 

Running from Ash Wednesday to Easter Sunday, the series is geared towards families with children ages 10 and under, but is open to everyone. To sign up, click here.


Parish Mission – Begins February 27th

How does the parable of “The Prodigal Son” reflect our own lives? Speaker and author Joe Heschmeyer will explain how the parable is relevant to our relationship with God and each other during the Holy Family Catholic Community Parish Mission, The Prodigal Son, beginning next weekend, from 6:30 to 8:00 p..m Sunday, February 27th – Tuesday, March 1st at Holy Family Church. Confession will be offered each night following the Mission talk.

Holy Family Catholic Community Prepares for Lent with Ash Wednesday, Way of the Cross Schedules – Each Friday throughout Lent

With Lent approaching, Holy Family is preparing its schedule for Ash Wednesday Masses and Way of the Cross offerings. Every Friday throughout Lent from Friday, March 4th – Friday, April 8th, Holy Family will offer the Way of the Cross, led by a priest, at 6:00 p.m. at Holy Family, 7:00 p.m. at Our Risen Savior, and in Spanish at 7:00 p.m. at St. Mary Church. Masses will be held at the following times on Ash Wednesday, Wednesday, March 2:

  • Holy Family: 7:00 a.m. (live streamed and in person); 5:00 p.m.; and in Spanish at 7:00 p.m. 
  • St. Mary: 12:10 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. 
  • Sacred Heart: 6:15 p.m. 

Holy Family to Offer Weekend Mass Server Training – March 7th

Holy Family Catholic Community will offer its next Server Training Session on Monday, March 7th, at 6:00 p.m. at Holy Family Church. This is for all weekend servers of the parish.  Offertory and Preparation of the Gifts will be discussed. Attendance is expected.

The person in this forward-facing position will help to lead, administer, coordinate, supervise and evaluate various programming for Human Concerns and Outreach Ministries in collaboration with the Director of Human Concerns. They will also coordinate funerals with families in union with Holy Family staff, clergy and volunteers, as well as assist in, organize, facilitate and supervise multiple ministries.

Lenten Priest Talk Series – Tuesdays During Lent

As we reflect on Jesus’ sacrifice at the cross this Lenten season, join our Holy Family Catholic Community priests as they guide us through the Four Last Things (plus one) that our souls will encounter at the end of our lives and at the start of our next. 

Talks will be held Tuesdays throughout Lent from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Sacred Heart Church and begin with Fr. Fabián Rodas discussing Death on Tuesday, March 8th.

Aurora Free Injury Evaluation

If pain has moved you from participant to spectator, call Aurora Sports Health to schedule a free injury evaluation. Performed by a licensed athletic trainer, physical therapist or occupational therapist, the free screening includes a pain assessment and recommendations for treatment or physician referral, if needed.  Click here for the assessment.
