  • Applications for NJHS (National Junior Honor Society) were handed out to all 7th and 8th-grade students today. The deadline to return the application is Friday, April 6th.

Announcements

 

  • Fr. John will be in the chapel from 10:45-11:30 to hear confessions.
  • Nomination papers for next year’s Student Council officers and class officers will be available in Mrs. Bartel’s room from Monday April 9th until Friday April 13th.
  • There will be a penny war held during the week of April 9th to benefit Catholic Relief Services. Each grade will work as a team. All pennies placed in your class’s bucket will count for your grade, but any other coins or bills will count against your grade. Bring in your pennies to help your class, or bring in other coins and bills to sabotage other grades! Collection jars will be located in the Main Office. The First place grade will receive a JEANS/SWEATS and SPIRITWEAR day and DONUTS.
  • The last math meet of the year is coming up on Monday April 9th at Omro.  We will leave at 5:00 and return around 9:00.  Please sign up in Mrs. Anderson’s room by Thursday– I need a definite count of who’s coming!
  • This week’s Wednesday morning NHS meeting is postponed to next Wednesday, April 11th due to the pending inclement weather.

  • Any Junior interested in the Badger Boys State, Badger Girls State or World Affair Seminar should talk with Mr. Knepful, Mrs. Bartel or the Counseling Office as soon as possible for more information.
  • Students, please submit any pictures of school events, like sports games, dances or any pictures of your class to hsyearbook@smsacademy.org. We are looking to consider your candid photos to complete yearbook pages.The trap team meeting that was rescheduled to Thursday (2/22) at 7:00 pm in the high school commons.

Counseling Updates

  • Rosenow Elementary School PTO will be offering 3 $500 scholarships to graduating seniors who attended Rosenow Elementary School at least one year and who plan to continue their education at a college or technical school.
  • Villa Loretto in Mt. Calvary is looking for Dietary Aides.  Must be 16 years of age.
  • St. Lawrence Seminary is looking for summer help to do general cleaning in classrooms, dormitories, offices, etc.
  • BCI Burke is looking for summer helpers to work full time in their factory (40 hours).  Must be 18 years old.  Possible full time permanent positions available for spring graduates.  Visit their website at www.bciburke.com to get a sense of what they do.
  • Parents looking for a summer sitter that can drive their three active girls, ages 7,9 and 11.  TuesdayWednesday and Thursday from 7:15-4:00.  Please call Rhonda at 979-0501 for more information.
  • Red Cabin Green Acres is looking for some young guys to help with outdoor upkeep for their 10 acre property.  Please stop in the Counseling Office for more information.
  • The SMSA Technology Services office is seeking a current sophomore or junior to fill a youth apprentice role for next year beginning this summer.  This is a great opportunity for students interested in pursuing a career in the IT and/or business fields.  If you are interested in more information, please stop by the office of Mr. Miller or Mr. Wikens.
  • Michels Corporation is hiring summer seasonal positions for yard laborer and their warehouse.  Applications must be filled out online by April 13th.
  •  11th grade College Planning Day April 12 and 13 from 8-12.  Must preregister.  Prospective students will have the opportunity to take a campus tour, interact with current students, attend mini-workshops, learn about the admissions process and next steps to make a decision.  To register: 
  • Lakeshore Elementary School Scholarship is available to a 2018 graduating senior who has spent at least one full year at Lakeshore Elementary.  More information in the Counseling Office.
  • Girl Scouts Camp Evelyn in Plymouth and Camp Manitou in Two Rivers have positions available this summer.  They are hiring for  Kitchen Aides, Counselors and Maintenance Assistants.
  • Marian University is offering a Summer Nurse Camp June 11-14, 9-3 each day.  Cost is $25.  Limited to 20 incoming Junior and Senior high school students.  Stop in the Counseling Office for more information.  Perfect for someone wanting to explore careers in health care.
  • The Shirlee Cutler/FDL Softball Hall of Fame Memorial Scholarship is now available in the Counseling Office.  This is available to graduating female seniors with a 3.0 gpa and is a letter winner in a Varsity Softball program.  It’s available to students attending St. Mary’s Springs, WLA or Fond du Lac High School.
  • The Fond du Lac County Sheriff Benevolent Association Scholarship is available to graduating seniors who plan to attend college next year and reside in Fond du Lac County.
  • The Fond du Lac Community Theatre Memorial Scholarship is available to graduating seniors planning to pursue higher education and has been involved in at least 2 FDL Community Theatre productions.
  • Eastern Ridge Home Builders Association $600 scholarship for students majoring in Construction Management, Architecture, Building Trades (including qualified apprenticeship programs), Engineering, Interior Design or other related fields of study relative to residential construction.
  • Parkside Elementary School is offering a scholarship to students that attended Parkside Elementary for at least one year.
  • Record Entertainment DJ & Photobooths is looking to hire a couple teens to work the photo booth at festivals, events, and weddings.  Work for a fun company! Hours primarily on a Friday or Saturday evening in late Spring and Summer. Photobooth team is responsible for setting up the booth, monitoring the camera and computer, interacting with photobooth guests.  Candidate must have good communication skills, be comfortable with the computer/ camera, training provided.  Interested persons should text Jennie at 920-913-0977 or email jennie@recordentertainment.com.
  • South Hills Golf & Country Club is hiring Lifeguards & Pool Servers.  Pool staff must be at least 16 years of age and available to work from Memorial Day weekend to Labor day weekend.  Lifeguard certification is required by the first day of work.  Classes for certification are offered over three days beginning February 2nd at the YMCA $150/Members or $180 Nonmember.  Contact Jackie at jrunge@southhillsfdl.com or 920-921-3636 ext. 103.
