“LEDGER PRIDE & SPIRIT”
Homecoming Spirit Week is a unique and special time for Ledgers to enjoy school days that are out of the ordinary – a week on the Ledge defined by fun and traditions that are ages old! Students revel in the opportunity to suspend the dress code each day by coming to school dressed in themed attire. They have the opportunity to participate in all-school assemblies that are loud and boisterous and fun. They even have the chance to interact with their teachers in a new way, learning more about each of them outside the context of class.
This week there were Power-Buff Volleyball competitions in Hutter Gym between classes Tuesday, and PowderPuff Football competitions between classes on the Football Field on Wednesday. We celebrated all fall sports athletes at our Pep Assembly on Thursday, and on Friday we had another special schedule to celebrate Homecoming Mass in Hutter gym as a high school community.
As a Catholic school, SMSA continues the ritual of daily prayer during Homecoming Spirit Week – never suspending our chance to give gratitude to God for the abundant opportunities to learn and grow together. Consistent with our mission and tradition, products for the vulnerable in our Fond du Lac community were collected all week long. We pray that the uniquely generous spirit of homecoming has been a positive, formative and memorable experience for all Ledgers this week.
I am especially grateful for the good planning and hard work that student council leaders, campus ministry leaders and class moderators have dedicated to making this week extra special. Mr. Krueger has been the true key to all planning, guiding students and teachers in the Ledger Way of Homecoming!
May God continue to bless our life on the Ledge, and may our Springs community continue to show its pride and joy at being Ledgers! This week, SMSA has emulated the biblical “shining city on a hill”…(maybe more accurately a “shining school on the Ledge”…) joyfully allowing our light to shine for all to see!

¡Vamos a Costa Rica!
The planning for the Spanish Costa Rica trip June 10-17, 2024, is underway. We have a good number of students already registered for this awesome cultural and educational adventure at this point, but want to make sure that everyone who is interested signs up before the price goes up on the 28th of this month. The sooner you sign up, the sooner you can start your Gift of Education Program in your social media! In 2019 a student fundraised her whole trip using this method.

Fond du Lac Fire Rescue Explorers Program Open House & Signup Event
The Fond du Lac Fire Rescue Explorer Program is designed to inform young people, ages 14-20, about various Fire/EMS training topics. There will be an open house on October 5th at Station 1 – next to Gilles, anyone interested in learning more or signing up to be a part of the program are encouraged to attend.
