From the Office of Eamonn O'Keeffe,

Happy Easter!

Lent has ended. In the Catholic spiritual tradition we now enter the Triduum: Holy Thursday; Good Friday; and Holy Saturday. This sacred time between the liturgical season of Lent and the start of the Easter season is rich in spiritual meaning for all Christians. We commemorate the final days of Jesus including the Last Supper, His agony in the garden, arrest, trial, torture, humiliation, Way of the Cross and crucifixion.  We journey with Jesus and try to imagine the experience. The risen Lord continues to journey with us each day, through all of the joys and challenges we may encounter.

On behalf of all my colleagues at SMSA, we ask God to continue blessing the Springs community.  May we each experience God’s grace in ways that deepen our faith, increase our empathy and move us closer to one another.  Happy Easter!

Good Friday: No School (virtual learning)

Friday, April 10th is Good Friday and there is no school (virtual learning) scheduled for this sacred day.  In fact, we suggest that students turn off their Chromebooks and all technology to reflect on the mysteries of our faith and God’s calling to them during this time.

Virtual Learning Guide

The most important common resource we have as a Springs “virtual learning” community is the SMSA Virtual Learning Guide 2020  The VLG is accessible to all equally and has been developed as a ‘one-stop-shop’ for parents, students and educators.  The HS course pages are updated weekly by each teacher and are especially important to students and parents. Click here for a tutorial about the VLG for high school.

The teacher/course specific pages of the VLG provide students (and parents) with clear learning targets for each class, weekly assignments and due dates, links to learning activities for the week and clear directions about what learning behaviors and outcomes are expected. Please reach out to administration if you are having any difficulty accessing this important resource. You are also encouraged to check the SMSA Website for updates and other resources around the COVID-19 pandemic. https://www.smsacademy.org/covid19/.

Quarter 3 Grades

Parents and students will have Skyward access to view Quarter III grades on Friday, April 10th at 7:00 a.m.

SMSA Virtual Learning Surveys

From the SMSA Leadership Team

SMSA Families,

We are asking all parents and students in grades 6-12 to take a couple of minutes of their time to complete a Virtual Learning Survey. Your responses are very important to us. With your feedback we will be able to provide an excellent educational experience during this period of social distancing and virtual learning.

Thank you in advance for your feedback!
