Principal’s Desk News & Information Upcoming Dates School Care News
Dear Parents/Guardians,
Thank you for attending parent/teacher conferences last week. It was wonderful to see our community coming together in partnership. Our school was filled with a positive energy as the SMSA community was navigating hallways and building relationships to support the children. Parent/teacher conferences come along twice during the school year. Please know we are available for scheduled individual conferences throughout the school year if the need arises. It’s as easy as communicating with the teacher and scheduling a time that works for the both of you. Thank you for taking the time and being present at conferences. SMSA appreciates your commitment, trust and partnership.
SMSA has a couple of events approaching. Please check out the important dates further down the eLedger to learn more about Halloween activities and our second SMSA Talent Show.
Dates to Remember:
October 27: Middle School Halloween dance after school
October 31: Trunk or Treat (Evening program)
October 31: Elementary Halloween Parties (Last hour of the school day)
May 24: Kindergarten – Eighth Grade Mass & 8th grade graduation at Holy Family at 9:00 AM
Thank you for your continued partnership with SMSA. Together we will create a path for tomorrow’s children to achieve amazing dreams.
God Bless,

St. Mary’s Springs Academy is excited to be participating again this year in the Archdiocese of Milwaukee’s Catholic Schools Walk!
Next week (October 16th-20th), students will be participating in the Catholic Schools Walk during their physical education classes. Students will walk, run, or jog on the track and combine mileage K-8 to make the mileage and distance to St. Augustine, Florida – National Shrine of Our Lady of La Leche. All classes will be outside as long as it is not raining, so please ensure your child(ren) is dressed appropriately for the weather. Depending on the temperature, they may bring sweatpants and sweatshirts to change into for PE class—a coat, hat, or gloves. We look forward to moving our bodies, enjoying the fall weather and the camaraderie between grade levels.
As in the past several years, we also have a goal to raise $5,000 on, or before, Saturday, October 21st to receive a matching gift of $5,000 being provided by generous Catholic Schools walk sponsors. Here is how you can show your support today and help us reach our goal:
– Make a donation by clicking here to help us reach our $5,000 Catholic Schools Walk goal.
– Text SCHOOLSWALK75 to 71777 (Msg & data rates may apply) to make a donation today to help us reach our goal.
Your support is greatly appreciated, and the impact of your gift will make twice the difference for students at SMSA!
A big T H A N K Y O U to all of our preschool to 8th grade families who helped to make the Homecoming Penny War a HUGE success! After an epic, weeklong battle our Kindergarteners were victorious and took home the top prize: an out of uniform day of their choice. Even better, we were able to raise a whopping $2,642.01 for those in need!!!
Specifically, this money is being used to purchase the supplies for Loaves and Fishes and Holy Family Warming Shelter meals, which our middle and high school students will provide to those experiencing food insecurity in our community. Here are some picture of our Loaves and Fishes Meal on October 4th.
It’s that time of year again! Time for St. Mary’s Springs Academy’s “Big Money Raffle” (BMR). Who will win $20,000 this year!?
This cash raffle is one of only three major fundraisers for SMSA that involves EVERY family, Pre-K through 12th grade. Each family receives 5 BMR tickets to sell and/or purchase. BMR tickets were distributed during conferences last week, if you did not receive your families tickets at that time, they will be coming home in your youngest child’s backpack this week. Please be sure to check their backpacks and/or folders.
Please review the information included in the envelope regarding this fundraiser. Tickets may be returned to school with your child or to the North, South or Scrip offices any time before the noon drawing on Friday, January 12, 2024.

As fall sports start to wind down, the SMSA Athletic Department is beginning preparations for winter sports. If you have an athlete interested in participating on a winter sports team, the athletic paperwork needs to be completed prior to the season start. If your athlete has competed in a fall sport, they do not need to complete the paperwork again. The forms are included in the link below.
Please contact Kelly Mueller at kmueller@smsacademy.org with any questions. Good luck to our fall sports teams as they finish their seasons. Go Ledgers!
If you are the parent of an athlete, please consider giving of your time to help out in one of our concession stands or with admissions. The Booster Club supports ALL SMSA sports, so feel free to help out at activities your kiddos are not in, to assure other parents can watch their son or daughter in that particular sport. This is a great opportunity to serve and see/meet more of our Ledger family.
Signing up is easy…..just click on one of the links and select a date that best fits your schedule.
A big thank you to those that have already signed up and given their support!
