Dear Parents,
Staff Update
As you all know, we reorganized the academic model this year to align with best practices. In this transition, Mitch Redig stepped in to take on the role of Elementary Assistant Principal. With the departure of Alex Mory, 7th and 8th grade social studies teacher, Mitch has answered the call to redirect his strengths to 7th and 8th grade social studies, while continuing to serve on the Leadership Team. This transition, effective Monday, November 18th, is done in the best interest of our students, so they can continue to live into the SMSA mission, vision, and The Ledger Way. We thank Mitch for his flexibility and dedication to SMSA, the students and families we serve.
Cold Weather and Recess Reminder
Brrr! It’s been cold outside. As a reminder, students will be going outside if the windchill is zero degrees or above in temperature. Please support them in thinking about outdoor packing or wearing clothing that is necessary for those temperatures. Thank you for your partnership.
Hug and Go Reminder
Please remember to use the Hug and Go lane as it is attended! It is not a parking zone for long periods of time, even in cold temperatures. Please help traffic moving by parking in the parking lot if this is your intention of staying awhile. The middle lane is not a Hug and Go lane or a parking spot at the end by the crosswalk. Please help traffic flow and be considerate of others by using the middle lane as intended as a drive through for cars as they leave. If we all work together, the drop off – pick up process runs really smooth.
Electronic Report Cards
Electronic report cards were sent out last week Friday. If you have not found the report card, please enter into Skyward and view the student portfolio tab. You will see your child’s report card in this location.
Veterans Day Wrap Up
Lastly, I’m so proud of all of our students, faculty and staff. The Veterans Day celebration was an amazing experience. I would call it breathtaking. The Ledger Way was in full force and fully present. Thank you for partnering with us and growing amazing children to become leaders for tomorrow.
God Bless,
Steven Kelnhofer
Love and Logic Tip of the Week: The best person to answer the question “but why?” is the person asking it. Wise parents respond to ” But why?” with “And why do you think?”
