From the Desk of Steve Kelnhofer - Elementary School Principal

Dear Parents/Guardians,
On May 20th we had the wonderful experience to have our very own Principal for the day, Easton Gross in Kindergarten, be the leader of the Elementary school. Mr. Easton Gross had a full day including meeting with the Enrollment Director, leading the Principal’s Pen breakfast with the MS students, observed trout in the HS school, had a wonderful lunch with Mr. K, check into some classrooms, worked in the Principal’ office, sat in the Principal’s chair and play with his friends. Mr. Easton Gross is a fun Principal filled with positive curiosity and asks great questions to move learning forward. His infectious personality created a wonderful day together. Thank you, Mr. Gross for a great day!

The end of the school year is quickly approaching. On May 24th we will be celebrating our school year with a Kindergarten through 8th grade Mass at Holy Family. After Mass we will be celebrating our 8th graders with a graduation ceremony. The eighth grade students will be highlighted as student leaders and transition the Ledgers Way core values to the current seventh graders. The eighth graders will get to celebrate with the the entire SMSA Elementary School. Included in the celebration will be a Ledger Way Candle Ceremony, hearing from a few of the eighth graders and a presentation of the eighth grade diplomas. This will be the last day of school for our eighth grade class.

The following week we will be hosting Field Days for grades Kindergarten through Grade 7 on May 28th and 29th. Please look for a communication from the homeroom teachers for more information. Our last full day of school will be May 29th. After School Care is planning staffing for May 29th. Please sign up for Afterschool Care if you are planning on using this service on the last day of school so we can be prepared. Thank you.

The second P3 – Grade 8 SMSA Student Showcase took place on May 15th. Thank you for your participation and partnership. It was awesome to see and feel all the excitement in the building as students shared what they have accomplished and how they have grown throughout this year.

Thank you for all your support and partnership as we transition to May at SMSA. Together we create a path for tomorrow’s children to achieve amazing dreams.

God Bless,
Steven Kelnhofer
Elementary Principal, SMSA
