News from the South Hall

Dear Parents,

It was a welcome sight to see all the smiles come bounding back into SMSA after break!  It is wonderful to take a break in life at times and to reflect.

As we are rejuvenated after break, let’s prepare for the fourth quarter and journey together as partners for an amazing end to our future leaders’ educational journey for this academic school year.

Third Quarter Conclusion

Third quarter will conclude on Friday, March 15, 2019.  Report cards will be available online on Friday, March 29, 2019.  Please remember to sign electronically.  You can access Skyward at anytime throughout the school year to view how your student(s) are achieving.  Please feel free to communicate with teachers as well if you need to further understand learning that is occurring.

ASTOP Presentations

Starting next week, we will be having ASTOP presentations in our classrooms.  These speakers do a wonderful job talking with students about being safe at each grade levels appropriate understanding and comfort level.  Please look for more communication coming home with your student.

Forward Testing

Forward testing has begun for our elementary students.  It will conclude before Good Friday.  Look for communication for your grade level coming home via your student’s classroom teacher.  More information can be found in the eledger under System Information.

God Bless,

Steven Kelnhofer

Book Fair Co-Chair Needed

Looking to get involved raising money for our school and love books? Consider co-chairing our book fairs!  Book Fairs are just one of the ways our Parent Connectors help raise money for our school.

We are in need of a co-chair for our book fairs that we hold in Fall and Spring of each school year.  Co-chairs also oversee a summer reading program sponsored by Scholastic for the elementary students.  As a co-chair you will assist in advertising, scheduling volunteers, running the sales, set up and take down of the fairs.  Our fairs usually run for approximately 2-3 days. The profits we earn are then used to purchase learning materials for our school.

If you are interested and would like to know more, please contact Lisa Serovy at serovy@charter.net.
