Dear Parents and Guardians,
Yesterday, we began Lent with an all-System Ash Wednesday Mass. It was a beautiful way to start our journey as Fr. Justin spoke about redemptive suffering. Not only do we give up something for Lent to let us suffer a little bit, but we add a piece of prayer with that and offer it to the worldly concern. He spoke about how we may not eat chocolate during Lent. In this, we can offer the temptation to eat chocolate to pray for those in the world without enough to eat.
Through this thought process we may be able to connect closer to Jesus and the Gospel as we repent and return to the gospel. We also remember we are dust and to dust we shall return.
Let’s make the most of our time together here by sharing in love, smiles and service to each other. What can we do to support someone each day of Lent?
Thank you for your continued partnership with SMSA. Together we create a path for tomorrow’s children to achieve amazing dreams.
God Bless,
