Dear Families,

I pray all of you are healthy and well.   The academic year is very close to conclusion.  Through this year’s journey, we have experienced so many unforeseen challenges and obstacles.  Though the sea we sailed had rough waters, may we remember the challenges that helped change us.  My prayer through the fourth quarter has been one of hope,  growth and change.  For when we change ourselves is when the world changes.  

Thank you for sailing with SMSA in this shaken sea.  Thank you for standing with us in partnership and continuing education.  We appreciate the dedication to SMSA and look forward to seeing you once again on the Ledge in the future.  Until then, I wish your family a safe and relaxing summer.

Below you will also find an update for eighth grade virtual graduation and updates on a special eighth grade Mass at the end of July.

 Eighth Grade Students and Parents:

A very special graduation ceremony has been created and will be shared with you via a skyward email on June 5, 2020.   Your family will be able to view the virtual graduation link and an additional candid video on Friday, June 5th.   

We are also currently coordinating a special eighth grade Mass with Holy Family to celebrate the completion of Elementary School. The Mass date is tentatively set for Sunday, July 26th. The time is still to be determined.

Even though our “regular” Summer Reading Program at Springs will not be offered we are able to offer you some great programs you can partake in, if you wish, with chances to win gift certificates for our book fair! Check out the following options:

-Summer Reading with the Fond du Lac Public Library begins Monday, June 1 – Saturday, August 15, 2020. This program is for youth through adults!  Click here to sign up online. 

Check out their jam-packed schedule of virtual programs for kids of all ages. Sign up today and print out your first reading card at home, once it’s filled up return it to the library for your reward.

-Scholastic Home Base:  This free program celebrates reading for fun while improving access to books during the summer. Scholastic Home Base is a free digital destination which offers full books, live events, and games in a safe community for readers! Kids will be encouraged to track their reading streaks to earn rewards and unlock book donations. Scholastic Home Base is a safe and completely FREE online destination where kids can create their own avatar, interact with their favorite Scholastic characters, play games and read books. Home Base is moderated 24/7. This program runs through Friday, September 4, 2020.

At any point during the summer, kids can download and print a report of their reading progress to share with their parent, educator, librarian or group leader. Junior Ledgers who print out a final report in September and return it to school will be entered into a $25 Scholastic Book Fair Gift Certificate.
