Dear Parents and Guardians,
The Epiphany of our Lord is celebrated on Jan. 6th. The Epiphany is celebrated as a time to reveal Our Savior and announce His coming to the world. The Epiphany gives us the opportunity to reflect. What gift will I bring Jesus today through my actions? How can I use my God Given gifts to better the community and influence those around me to change the world? What am I going to do this year to make life a gift? Let’s create a 2024 that is filled with responsibility, learning, leading respect, community and faith.

January 19th, 2023 is the conclusion of the first grading period for our Early Childhood P3 through Kindergarten. Please expect a narrative report card to come home with your Early Childhood child(ren) on January 23rd. Please look for more information from the classroom teachers regarding the report cards.

February 5th through the 16th SMSA second to eighth graders will be taking their winter Map assessment. We look forward to seeing the growth of our students and the application of knowledge that has worked on during the first half of the school year. The student data is used in a multitude of ways. The data shows patterns of growth and achievement that is used for future class scheduling as the students mature as learners.

A HUGE heartfelt thank you to all of the 4th-8th grade students that created the beautiful Christmas cards, the generous families in PreK-8th that bought them, and donated to our movie and popcorn afternoon.

Because of your amazing spirit of giving, we were able to present a check for $5,854.40 to the family of Lev Werdin on Thursday, January 4th. We are grateful for your continued support. Please keep Lev and his family in your prayers.

The Fond du Lac County Health Department will be coming to campus on Thursday 1/18 to assist with our annual Hearing and Vision Screening.

The following grades will be participating: 3k, 4k, Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th and 7th. If there are any concerns noted in your child’s screening, results and information will be sent home in the coming weeks.

The Parent Connectors SMSA Skate Day is coming….Monday, January 22nd (No School)! Come and join us at Korneli’s on the Avenue for a day filled with roller skating, raffle prizes, & skating games.

• 3K – 5th Grade from 10:30 am – 1:00 pm
• 6th – 8th Grade from 1:30 pm – 3:30 pm.

Admission is $7.00 a person and that includes your skates. You are more than welcome to bring your own skates if you would like. The concession stand will be open for families to purchase items. Your child will need to be accompanied by an adult to attend this event. Thank you! There is no RSVP needed. We hope to see you there!

SMSA-Skate-Day ’24

Are you interested in joining the middle school musical? If so, join us for a parent-student informational meeting on Monday, January 8th from 6:30 pm – 7:30 pm. At this meeting, you and your parents will receive all the information needed to decide if this is something for you and your family. Auditions will be on Monday, January 15th, and Tuesday, January 16th from 3:30 pm – 5 pm in room #2080. All students interested must attend the mandatory parent/student meeting and both workshop dates. Don’t hesitate to get in touch with Mrs. Packer at spacker@smsacdemy.org with any questions.

Planning has begun for our annual Ledgerfest fundraising event (our largest and one of the most fun events of the year)! In previous years, we have collected money from each grade level and put together amazing auction baskets that will be in our silent auction.

With cold weather here, please remind your child(ren) to stop by the lost and found if they are missing a glove, hat, boot or even their jacket. The lost and found has been a very popular spot this year.
