From the Office of Steve Kelnhofer, P3 - 5th Grade Principal

News from the South Hall

Dear Parents,

Happy New Year!

A New Year is a new start and a great time to set aside some time to reflect upon the previous year.  It’s good to remember where you’ve been to help think about where you want to go.  I’m reflective of where SMSA has been and excited to see what the future has in store for us!  Thank you for partnering with us on our educational journey for children.  A faith community together can raise a child to become leaders for tomorrow with the values of respect, responsibility, love, faith, community and a thirst to learn.

MAPS Testing

Winter MAPS testing window for grades second through fifth will begin next week and conclude at the end of the month.  Each grade will be assessed in math and reading.  MAPS testing provides a snapshot of how a student is growing and content areas being measured.  MAPS is one snapshot out of many to help clarify how each student is growing in knowledge and skill.

Yearbook Orders

Yearbook order forms will be coming home soon via backpack.  Please be on the lookout for them in the coming days.  They are due back by February 14, 2019.

God bless and make 2019 amazing,

Steven Kelnhofer
