Dear Parents and Guardians,
The school year is moving right along and we are approaching the midpoint of the the second trimester. The SMSA Early Childhood Program including kindergarten families, will be receiving their narrative report cards home from SMSA through the students’ backpacks on Jan. 23rd. Our littlest of Ledgers grow each day and apply new knowledge, attain new skills and build a relationship with Christ. The littlest of Ledgers bring many smiles to those they encounter. Those classrooms are one of my favorite places to visit in our school.

Catholic Schools Week is coming to SMSA beginning on Jan. 28th. Additional CSW information will be shared and will include: out of dress code days, bowling days and much more.

Thank you for your continued partnership with SMSA. Together we create a path for tomorrow’s children to achieve amazing dreams.

The BMR drawing will take place no matter the weather. ALL tickets must be returned returned to SMSA before the drawing at noon on Friday, January 12, 2024.

Please make all checks payable to SMSA. Tickets can be dropped off or purchased at the North or South offices at SMSA.

Holy Family Catholic Community Children’s Choir is extending an invitation to SMSA students to join them for the parish Catholic Schools Week Mass on Sunday, January 28th at 10am at Holy Family Church with Bishop Jim Schuerman and Father Michael Malucha!

All SMSA students in grades 3-8 are welcome to sing in the choir during mass, and rehearsals will be Thursday, January 18th and 25th at 4pm. The 2 rehearsals will be approximately 45 minutes long and are held at Holy Family Church. RSVP’s are not necessary, and feel free to reach out to Eva Thelen, Children’s Choir Director with any questions at ethelen@hffdl.org. We are hoping to see as many families as possible to celebrate our Catholic Schools! See you there!

The Fond du Lac County Health Department will be coming to campus on Thursday 1/18 to assist with our annual Hearing and Vision Screening.

The following grades will be participating: 3k, 4k, Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th and 7th. If there are any concerns noted in your child’s screening, results and information will be sent home in the coming weeks.

The Parent Connectors SMSA Skate Day is coming….Monday, January 22nd (No School)! Come and join us at Korneli’s on the Avenue for a day filled with roller skating, raffle prizes, & skating games.

• 3K – 5th Grade from 10:30 am – 1:00 pm
• 6th – 8th Grade from 1:30 pm – 3:30 pm.

Admission is $7.00 a person and that includes your skates. You are more than welcome to bring your own skates if you would like. The concession stand will be open for families to purchase items. Your child will need to be accompanied by an adult to attend this event. Thank you! There is no RSVP needed. We hope to see you there!

SMSA-Skate-Day ’24

Are you interested in joining the middle school musical? If so, join us for a parent-student informational meeting on Monday, January 8th from 6:30 pm – 7:30 pm. At this meeting, you and your parents will receive all the information needed to decide if this is something for you and your family. Auditions will be on Monday, January 15th, and Tuesday, January 16th from 3:30 pm – 5 pm in room #2080. All students interested must attend the mandatory parent/student meeting and both workshop dates. Don’t hesitate to get in touch with Mrs. Packer at spacker@smsacdemy.org with any questions.

The SMSA Ledger Hockey team is set to take on Brookefield East, Saturday, January 20, 2024 for Youth Hockey Night!

Puck drops at 12:30 p.m. for the Varsity game and 3:00 p.m. for the JV game.

Planning has begun for our annual Ledgerfest fundraising event (our largest and one of the most fun events of the year)! In previous years, we have collected money from each grade level and put together amazing auction baskets that will be in our silent auction.

Parents with students in the performing arts, come to help support the performing arts at SMSA! If your child is in high school or middle school band or chorus, theater, or jazz vocals/band, we’d love for you to join us!

With cold weather here, please remind your child(ren) to stop by the lost and found if they are missing a glove, hat, boot or even their jacket. The lost and found has been a very popular spot this year.
