Dear Parents,
My prayer for you is your advent season is going well as you prepare for the coming of our Lord. At SMSA, we have been preparing with Christmas concerts, a day of reconciliation for grades 2 – 8 and multiple service projects.
Thank you for your attendance and support during this time of year. I appreciate your partnership and generosity of time, talent and treasure.
One of our biggest service projects is for Brenna. Friday, December 20, 2019 we will be having a snack and movie day to help with our cause and support for Brenna. We are asking for a suggested donation of $3.
Last weekend my family was selling student made Christmas cards for Brenna at the end of Mass. One gentlemen approached us and told his story about how his family was a beneficiary of this service project a while back for his son. He stated, “I don’t know what I would have done without the help of SMSA.” He continued, “Now it’s my turn to give back and Merry Christmas.” He then bought a few cards and left with a twinkle in his eye and a beautiful smile on his face.
I left feeling a sense of pride for our students and how they change the world by taking time to create one card at a time, and making the time to care even if they don’t get to see the end result. What an amazing gift kids give us to reflect upon during Christmas.
