Dear Parents/Guardians,                                                       

I pray all of you are doing well.  The school year is quickly approaching and the excitement is swelling inside  the building, anticipating the life blood of the school  returning.  

Our new electronic Family Packet was sent a couple of weeks ago through a Skyward Message.  The Skyward email replaced the hard copy and mailing of the SMSA Family Packet for the upcoming school year.  I understand this is different from previous years.  Thank you for working with us through this change. 

I hope you took time to navigate the email and the internal links. Items you will find include, academic calendar, important dates information, immunization records form, food service updates, scrip information, parent connectors letter, links to school supply lists, the 2021 revised Return To The Ledge Health And Safety Protocols and registration for before/after school care services.  

After/before school care services will be available, but will have a cap to support our environment and staffing.  Please register early if you wish to use the program.  The program will be filled on a first registered basis.

Standards Based Grading

As I have mentioned in previous eLedgers, St. Mary’s Spring Academy is excited to introduce Standards Based Grading in grades kindergarten through third grade for the 2021-22 school year! Standards Based Grading is a best practice initiative the Archdiocese of Milwaukee is leading all of its schools towards implementing in the coming school year.  

The objective of the video series is to educate parents in short videos to unpack Standard Based Grading.  The series intends to deliver an education and mindshift to understand Standards Based Grading, why Standards Based Grading is best practice, and how Standards Based Grading functions with the parent and teacher supporting the student’s journey.
