Dear SMSA Families,
As we enter this beautiful Easter season, we want to take a moment to express our heartfelt appreciation for your continued partnership and support. Your involvement is vital in nurturing our students and fostering a vibrant community.
SMSA wishes you a very happy and blessed Easter Season! May you and your family find Jesus during this most important celebration within our faith community. Thank you for sharing your child(ren) with SMSA as we continue to nurture their relationship with Christ. This movement has the ability to transform and influence our community to reach its full potential of living the Ledger Way core values in our everyday lives. We all have an important role to play and a purpose to fulfill. May your Easter be one filled with joy!
We would like to remind all parents and guardians of the expectations regarding the lower playground after school. After school is a wonderful opportunity to build community; however, we have a few important reminders:
If you permit your child(ren) to play on the school playground or campus grounds after school, it is your responsibility to supervise them.
According to our handbook, “Students are not to remain on the premises for the purpose of playing on the playground or campus grounds after school if they are not supervised by their parent or guardian. Students outside the school building are accountable to parents or guardians after the final bell rings.”
To reinforce the importance of Parent/Guardian supervision, a staff member will occasionally come outside around 3:15 PM to remind each student to stand next to their parent or guardian for a check-in. This will help ensure that all students are visually confirmed as supervised after school hours. If a child is not with their guardian, they will be directed to wait at the south office entrance area until 3:20 PM. After this time, the child will be enrolled in the extended care program at the expense of the parent or guardian.
If a ball goes over the brick wall on the lower playground, please notify a staff member or the front office, and we will return the ball to you. We ask that parents and students do not climb onto the brick retaining wall to retrieve it.
Kindergarten classes will utilize door 14 during after-school pick-up. Students may play ball games on the north side of the lower playground by door 13, where the cement is located, as long as they are supervised by their guardian.
Thank you for your cooperation and partnership in helping to keep all children safe as we continue to foster a supportive learning community.
As always, we encourage you to stay engaged with school activities and events. Your support makes a significant difference in our children’s educational experience and helps us to build a vibrant community together. We are grateful for your ongoing support in helping us create a safe and nurturing environment for our students. We look forward to our continued collaboration and a successful season ahead.
God Bless,
Steven Kelnhofer
