Summer Electronic Benefit (EBT) Program

The Summer Electronic Benefit (EBT) program helps families buy food while school is out during the summer and nutritious school meals may not be available. Through Summer EBT, families can get one payment per summer for each eligible child in their household. For the 2025-26 school year, Summer EBT benefits will be sent to families with eligible children starting May 2026.

 

If your child gets free or reduced price meals at our school, they automatically qualify for Summer EBT for Summer 2026. If you move or need to change your contact information before benefits start to be issued in May 2026, you should use the Department of Health Services’ Benefit Management Tool at summerebt.wi.gov/s/SummerBenefitInfo to let the state know.

 

If your child does not get free or reduced price meals, there are actions you can take to see if they can qualify before Summer EBT benefits are sent out for Summer 2026.

  • You can apply for free or reduced-price meals at St. Mary’s Springs Academy for your child. If they are approved anytime during the 2025-26 school year, they will automatically qualify for Summer EBT.
  • You can apply to participate in another qualifying state benefit program. Your child will automatically qualify for Summer EBT if your household gets FoodShare, W-2 Cash Benefits, or Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations (FDPIR) benefits, or participates in certain income-based Medicaid programs.
    If you apply and are approved for one of these programs before the end of Summer 2026, then your child who attends St. Mary’s Springs Academy will be eligible for Summer EBT for 2026. To learn more about applying for any of these state benefits you can call 211, visit wi.gov, or contact your local or tribal agency. Visit dhs.wi.gov/forwardhealth/imagency/index.htm to find the agency based on where you live who will help you apply or enroll for programs.
  • You can apply directly for Summer EBT. You can apply on https://wisconsin.summerebtapp.com for Summer EBT. When applying for Summer EBT for your child(ren) who attend St. Mary’s Springs Academy, you will need to show that your household meets the income requirements for the program. The Summer EBT webpage at wi.gov/sebt has more information on what these income requirements are.

Note: This information is for children that attend St. Mary’s Springs Academy. If you have another child that goes to a different school, the steps here might not be the right ones for them to qualify for Summer EBT and they may get a different letter explaining how they would qualify. You can visit dhs.wi.gov/sebt to learn more.

 

Getting Summer EBT does not affect whether your child can get other benefits, such as meals offered through the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) or Seamless Summer Option (SSO). To learn more about SFSP or SSO meal sites near you, visit https://dpi.wi.gov/community-nutrition/sfsp/find-summer-meals-site  or call 211. You can also text ‘food’ to 304-304.

Helping Hands Needed in the School Library for the 2026-2027 School Year

Our school library is more than just a place for books—it’s a welcoming space where students can learn, explore, and grow. Volunteering in the library is a wonderful way to be part of that environment while making a meaningful contribution to our school community.

 

We support students in all grades, P3–8, on a regularly scheduled weekly basis, and our high school students visit at various times throughout the year. Library volunteers play an important role in helping things run smoothly by assisting with a variety of tasks and supporting students during their visits.

 

We are grateful to have dedicated parents and grandparents who volunteer regularly, as well as those who help as substitutes when needed. Volunteers who are scheduled consistently each week build strong connections—not only with classroom teachers but also with the students. These relationships are special, and it’s something everyone looks forward to each week in the library.

The Wisconsin Parental Choice Program is making major updates for 2026-2027:
DISTRICT CAPS – District enrollment caps are being removed.
NEW APPLICATION WINDOWS – Monthly application windows will now be used (see the table below for dates). Each month, applications will be verified and Choice seats assigned. This is the application method that has successfully been followed by Racine for years.

Do you have gently used or like new instruments at home?

Do you have a gently used or like new instrument(s) that you are looking to donate? SMSA is looking to add instruments to our band programs for students who are just starting out, in need of help financially, and/or are unsure what they would like to play and may need to try a few different options. Instruments can be dropped off at the North or South office during regular school hours.

All uniform and spirit wear pieces that your child outgrows, throughout the school year, can be dropped off at the North, South or Scrip office during regular business hours.
