Dear SMSA Families,
As we welcome this joyful Easter season, we want to thank you for your ongoing partnership and support. Your involvement is essential to nurturing our students and strengthening our school community.
SMSA wishes you a happy and blessed Easter. May you and your family experience Christ’s presence during this important time in our faith community. We appreciate you entrusting your child(ren) to SMSA as we help them grow in their relationship with Christ. This shared journey can inspire and shape our whole community as we live the Ledger Way core values each day. Every one of us has a meaningful role and purpose. Wishing you an Easter filled with joy!
With warmer spring weather approaching, please remember our expectations for use of the lower playground after school. While after-school time is a valuable opportunity for families to connect, we ask that you note the following reminders:
Students should not stay on campus to play on the playground or elsewhere after school unless they are directly supervised by a parent or guardian. Responsibility for students before and after instructional hours rests with the parent or guardian.
To reinforce supervision, staff will periodically step outside to visually confirm that students are accountable to a parent or guardian for a quick check-in. If a child is not with an adult, the child will be asked to wait by the south office entrance until 3:20 PM. After 3:20 PM, the child will be enrolled in the extended care program and charges will apply to the parent or guardian.
If a ball goes over the brick retaining wall on the lower playground, please inform a staff member or the front office and we will retrieve it. For safety, please do not climb the wall.
Thank you for your cooperation and partnership in keeping our students safe and supporting a positive learning environment.
We encourage you to stay involved in school activities and events. Your engagement greatly enriches our students’ educational experience and helps foster a thriving community. We appreciate your continued support and look forward to working together this season.
God bless,
Steven Kelnhofer Elementary Principal, SMSA
The Principal’s Pen is an opportunity for teachers to recognize students who consistently demonstrate “The Ledger Way” with a focus on faith, learning, respect for leadership, community and responsibility. The students chosen attended a special breakfast with Mr. Kelnhofer, Mr. Thuerwachter and a special guest. They also received a certificate with a brief sentence on how they followed “The Ledger Way,” and a principal’s pen. This week’s special guest speaker was Greg Brunette, Director of Business Operations at SMSA.
