Reading Specialist

St. Mary’s Springs Academy is seeking qualified applicants for a full-time reading specialist for the 25-26 academic year to serve students in grades P3-8.

 

The Reading Specialist is responsible for providing high quality instruction, support and leadership in order to produce high quality outcomes in the area of Reading and Literacy. The Reading Specialist assists with establishing school wide and individual reading goals. Additionally, the Reading Specialist provides intervention for students and works with teachers to implement additional supports within the classroom. The Reading Specialist assists in developing and implementing a comprehensive reading program.

 

Requirements:

Applicants must be certified as a licensed Reading instructor in the State of Wisconsin with three to five years’ experience preferred. The successful candidate understands and has experience in current practices and methodologies for teaching reading to grades K-6. The candidate must be a team player, willing to be flexible and collaborate with colleagues and capable of successfully integrating technology into the daily teaching practices; differentiating instruction and assessment. Training in CKLA, as well as a practicing Catholic preferred.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Partners with the Academic Team to coordinate and facilitate a school-wide literacy program
  • Provides coaching, support and strategies to teachers to improve instruction that will enhance literacy growth across the curriculum
  • Assists students with lagging development improve literacy skills
  • Collaborates with teachers to promote the learning and implementation of best practices in literacy instruction
  • Creates and examines data to measure the success of literacy programs and instruction
  • Teaches targeted literacy intervention to individual or small groups of students using research-based strategies and resources
  • Conducts individual and school-wide assessments in order to evaluate levels and targeted interventions
  • Reviews student achievement and facilitates student support in appropriate reading and writing interventions
  • Meets regularly with classroom teachers to plan literacy instruction that correlates with individual student needs
  • Evaluates the reading/language arts program annually for effectiveness
  • Provides data-driven staff development in alliance with the Academic Team
  • Promotes effective use of technology within reading programs

Coordinator of Academic Support

St. Mary’s Springs Academy (SMSA) in Fond du Lac, serving students in preschool through high school (PK-12), is seeking qualified applicants for the following position(s): full-time Coordinator of Academic Supports for the remainder of the 24-25 Academic Year.

 

Requirements:

Applicants must be certified as a licensed instructor in Special Education in the State of Wisconsin. The successful candidate understands and has experience in current practices and methodologies providing academic support to students in any grade. The candidate must be a team player, willing to be flexible and collaborate with colleagues and capable of successfully integrating technology into the daily teaching practices; differentiating instruction and assessment. Training in teacher coaching, restorative practices and Social Emotional Learning (SEL) strategies as well as a practicing Catholic is preferred.

 

Responsibilities:

This position oversees and manages system-wide academic supports, including but not limited to, Special Needs Scholarship Program (SNSP) agreements, Student Accommodation Plans, English Language Learner (ELL) plans and other health plans with academic needs. This role coordinates on-site evaluations and referrals to community programs, such as Special Education and private therapy. The Coordinator of Academic Supports is also an integral part to the success of the Multi-leveled System of Support (MLSS) by running team/grade-level meetings and coaching faculty and staff to support their growth as an educator.

(2) Part-Time Food Service Positions

Interested in working just four hours a day in a fun, fast-paced environment? If you have a passion for food and children, it may be time to move in a new direction. St. Mary’s Springs Academy is seeking part-time assistance in the Food Service Department.

 

Requirements:

Successful candidate will be responsible for supporting efficient operation of school lunch program within a team environment. Experience working with children preferred.  Nature of work requires moderate physical effort, continuous standing, and ability to occasionally lift 30-50lb. Basic computer skills are necessary.

 

Hours are 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. – two or three days per week, during the school year.  Responsibilities would include serving, point of sale and cleanup. Previous food service experience is preferred, but not required.  Responsibilities would include service, point of sale and clean up.  This position has the potential for additional hours and professional advancement in the future.  A practicing Catholic is preferred.

After School Child Care - Part Time

St. Mary’s Springs Academy is seeking an individual who desires an opportunity to work in a dynamic empowering environment with students in grades 4K-5 as a part-time supervisor for our before/after school care programs. Each of the three classrooms are custom to certain grade levels and activities associated with the range of the grade levels.  

 

A strong candidate is willing to work as a team member, collaborate with colleagues and complete the Safe Environment Education training. Person with experience in an elementary school and/or child care setting is preferred, but not required.
