Mandatory Incoming Freshman Orientation Night

Planning the transition to high school is an exciting and unique experience but can also be filled with questions of what to expect.  To ensure an easy transition for not only your student, but for you as well, we invite you and your student to attend a 9th Grade Academic Orientation Night for the Class of 2028. The selection of high school courses your student takes may have a significant influence on their future educational endeavors.  9th Grade Academic Orientation Night is scheduled for Wednesday, February 21, from 5:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m., with 30 minutes for questions following.  This will take place at SMSA in the student cafeteria. 

The night will include department overview highlighting content areas, course selection process, student life activities and learning more about High School at SMSA.  Each student will receive a form with individual course recommendations, in addition, the results of their High School Placement Test, if completed, at orientation night.
