The HS Music Department is kicking off their annual poinsettia sale this week. The money from this sale helps to offset the cost of future Music Department Trips.

The SMSA Ledger Hockey online store through Hopper’s will be open until November 17th. Order will be available for pickup at Hopper’s starting Wednesday, December 6th.

BMR tickets have been distributed to the youngest child in every family. If you did not receive your tickets, please contact Kristin Zitlow at kzitlow@smsacademy.org, or a member of the BMR committee (listed below). Sold tickets can be returned to SMSA any time before the live drawing on January 12, 2024.

Do you have a gently used or like new instrument(s) that you are looking to donate? SMSA is looking to add instruments to our band programs for students who are just starting out, in need of help financially, and/or are unsure what they would like to play and may need to try a few different options. Instruments can be dropped off at the North or South office during regular school hours.

All uniform and spirit wear pieces that your child outgrows, throughout the school year, can be dropped off at the North or South Hall Offices during regular school hours.

Mark your calendars for the Scrip Christmas Open House. Stock up on Scrip cards for your Christmas shopping or purchase Scrip cards to give as gifts. We have a large inventory of low denomination cards for gift giving. Great for teachers, coaches, neighbors, babysitters – anyone on your Christmas list.

The Band and Choir Christmas Concert for grades 5-8 is scheduled for Tuesday, December 12, 2023 at 6:30 p.m. in the Hutter Gymnasium.

New this year is concert dress for the 7th and 8th grade band. We are going away from the black attire at Christmas time and ask that the students dress up in their Sunday Best in Colors, for the Christmas Concert. Please don’t feel you need to go out and purchase a Christmas outfit for the concert, I am merely opening up the options for COLOR instead of all Black. Thank you!

Please arrive at school no later than 6:00 p.m. for warm up and tuning.

Wednesday, December 13th

During the school day:
All students will wear their school uniforms
12:45pm Performance in Hutter Gym-parents and families are invited

Evening concert:
Students should arrive in the Gym between 6:10pm and 6:15pm
(Students’ coats should be with parents)
Concert begins at 6:30pm

Dress code (for evening only) is as follows:
Students-wear your “Sunday Best” or fancy Christmas attire (no jeans)
