Serve the homeless at the Holy Family Warming Shelter

The Holy Family Warming Shelter will open its doors to those who are homeless in our area in mid-November. To care for those in need takes the work of a community. If you would like to assist in this effort, Holy Family is currently looking for people to volunteer or donate meals. Volunteers will be trained prior to starting. To learn more about these opportunities, please visit hffdl.org/warming-shelter. The parish is also seeking donations of specific items which can be purchased through its Amazon Wish List at amazon.com/wedding/share/HFFDL.

Help Holy Family provide opportunities for members with special needs

Holy Family is looking to provide opportunities for its parishioners with special needs to further engage in the church community. To help the parish do so, Holy Family is asking parishioners with special needs, or those who care for those with special needs, to participate in its survey to help the parish explore possible events and programming.

Children’s Liturgy of the Word Returns

Children’s Liturgy of the Word has returned to Sunday Masses at 9:00 am at Sacred Heart Church, 200 S. Peters Ave., and 10:00 am at Holy Family Church, 271 Fourth Street Way. This program provides kids ages 4-7 (who have not received First Communion) with an opportunity to go through the Liturgy of the Word (the Readings, Psalm, Gospel, Homily, and Prayers of the Faithful) but at their level. During the Mass the children leave before the Liturgy of the Word to hear the readings from the Children’s Lectionary instead.
