In need of a meal? Blessed Bites is here to help

Anyone in need of a meal is welcome to come to Holy Family’s Blessed Bites meal-to-go program, offered every Tuesday at St. Mary Church, 59 E. Merrill Ave., where they will receive a free meal, hygiene/cleaning items, and other food. Meals are available from 4:00 – 5:00 pm or until they run out.

 


 

Holy Family Priest Talks to begin

This Lent, as we desire to more fully understand and worship Jesus’ sacrifice and presence in the Eucharist, join our priests of Holy Family as they discuss the Holy Family Christmas read “This is My Body: A Call to Eucharistic Revival” by Bishop Robert Barron. The talks will last about 30 minutes, with 30 minutes of discussion to follow.

Tuesday, February 27, 2024: Preface and Chapter 1 with Fr. Matthew Kirk at Sacred Heart Church | 6:30 to 7:30 pm
Tuesday, March 5, 2024: Chapter 2 with Fr. Michael Malucha at Sacred Heart Church | 6:30 to 7:30 pm

Holy Family is now hiring for High School Formation & Youth Ministry Coordinator

 

 

Holy Family is hiring for its High School Faith Formation & Youth Ministry Coordinator position. This role will work with the parish’s Priest Team and Director of Christian Formation to help our high school students grow in their faith through the High School Formation Program and Confirmation Preparation Program, and our Middle & High School Youth Group. The person in this role must have strong organizational and administrative skills, and will oversee and assist catechists and other volunteers assisting in various Formation programs, prayer experiences, events, etc. To apply, please click here.

 


 

Holy Family Parish Mission kicks off next weekend!

Fr. John LoCoco – national Eucharistic preacher, former SMSA Chaplain, and former Holy Family priest – will lead the Holy Family Parish Mission, “Draw Close to the Lord: A Eucharistic Parish Mission” at Holy Family Church from 6:30 to 8:00 pm Sunday, February 18 to Tuesday, February 20. Join us for an evening of prayer and inspiration that will send us forth to proclaim the Good News we encounter in Christ.

 

Adoration will take place prior to the mission from 5:30 to 6:15 pm each night. A livestream of the mission will be provided, and the recording available on Facebook. Registration for high school Steubenville-St. Paul trip opens February 9

 

Registration for high school students looking to attend the Steubenville-St. Paul Conference July 26-28 will begin tomorrow, February 9. This is a weekend conference that evangelizes, equips, and empowers high school youth to become radical, joyful disciples. There are 20 spots reserved, which will be given out on a first-come, first-serve basis.

 

The parish will host an informational meeting for the trip tonight, February 8 at 6:00 pm in the Sacred Heart School Basement. If you are interested in participating in the conference, please attend the meeting and fill out the interest form at hffdl.org/event/steubenville2024/. Registration will be posted on the site as well.

 


 

Do good this Fat Tuesday and eat at Dairy Queen to support Warming Shelter

 

This Fat Tuesday, you can support the Holy Family Warming Shelter in a tasty way! Come to Dairy Queen, 635 W. Johnson St., from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm on Tuesday, February 13 and purchase any food, such as Blizzards or burgers, and proceeds from sales will benefit the Warming Shelter.

 


 

Celebrate Holy Family Gala Event returns

 

Holy Family is excited to share that its Celebrate Holy Family Gala Event will be held on Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at Holy Family Hall, 271 Fourth Street Way, beginning at 5:30 pm, with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, followed by a wonderful gourmet dinner catered by Chef Jack’s, Wisconsin’s premier caterer! Bid on an array of unique and valuable items at our silent auction as you listen to beautiful live music. During dessert, you will be the first to see a special presentation from the parish. We expect the evening to conclude at approximately 8:30 pm. Please note that the dress is business attire.

 

The cost of the event is $175 per person; or a table of 8 people for $1,400. Diamond-level sponsorships are available for $2,000 for a table of 8. All reservations and payments must be received at the Holy Family Office by February 29, 2024. Help for the Homeless Hygiene Drive to kick off next week!

You can help ease financial strain on eight local homeless and crisis programs in Fond du Lac by donating to 101.7/91.9 FM Fond du Lac and FOX 11’s Help for the Homeless Drive taking place February 11-March 3 at Holy Family Catholic Community.

 

The drive will collect items to serve those in need in our community. Needed items include: bathroom tissue, cleaning supplies, dental care, deodorant, diapers/baby care, face/bath soap, feminine care, hair care, laundry detergent, paper towels, razors, and trash bags. All donations can be dropped off in boxes marked for the drive at any of Holy Family’s churches. Thank you!

 


 

Faith Builders Club for Kids to talk Sacred Heart

This month, Holy Family’s Faith Builders Club for Kids will welcome children and their families to learn about the Sacred Heart of Jesus with a lesson and craft!

 

The club will meet for 15 minutes following the 10:00 am Mass at Holy Family Church, 271 Fourth Street Way, on Sunday, February 11 and following the 9:00 am Mass at Sacred Heart Church, 200 S. Peters Ave., Sunday, February 18.

 


 

Lenten Luncheon to celebrate Catholic Charities

 

On Tuesday, February 27, enjoy a delicious soup lunch with Archbishop Listecki at Catholic Charities’ Quad-Counties North Lenten Luncheon from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm at Holy Family Hall!

 

The luncheon will celebrate Catholic Charities’ mission of serving those in need, advocating for justice, and calling upon others to do the same. It will also honor Joe and Diane Thome, Fr. John Radetski, and Solutions Center as Treasures of the Church Awardees for their compassionate service to the organization.

 

The cost to attend is $25 per person, or $150 for a table of six, and includes a simple lunch of soup and salad, as well as dessert, generously donated by Mr. and Mrs. Catering. If you are interested in attending, please click here.

 


 

Adult Confirmation classes to begin March 20

Are you already Baptized, and have received Reconciliation and First Communion in the Catholic Church? Are you wanting to be confirmed in the Catholic faith?

 

Join Holy Family for an eight-week session to learn more about the faith and become Confirmed from 6:30 to 8:30 pm in Holy Family Church’s Fireside Room, 271 Fourth Street Way, Wednesdays running March 20-May 8 (except April 3 & 17). *After completion of the program a date for Confirmation will be scheduled (*while this program is eight weeks, you may not be Confirmed in eight weeks, depending on each individual’s extenuating circumstances).

Children invited to sing in Holy Family Children’s Choir

Children can sing their hearts out and show their love for the Lord when they lead the music at Mass with the Holy Family Children’s Choir! Children in grades 2-8 are invited to join the choir, which rehearses at Holy Family Church, 271 Fourth Street Way, on Thursdays from 4:00 to 4:45 pm through May, and leads the music at Mass once a month. You do not need to register your child for them to participate. Come to rehearsal to receive a schedule. Bowl for Kids' Sake - On the BIG Screen | Big Brothers Big Sisters of Fond du Lac County

 

Lights! Camera! Action! We’re excited to roll out the red carpet for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Fond du Lac County’s BIGGEST event of the year. Pay homage to your favorite movies and characters as you have fun and bowl in support of local youth at Bowl for Kids’ Sake – On the BIG Screen at Parkway Lanes on March 1st & 2nd. Don’t miss out on the costume contests, prizes, and friendly competition—it’s sure to be a box office hit!

Breakfast with Women Explores Spiritual Journeys

 

What is the central question of your life right now?

Join us in an exploration of your own spirituality and discussion of spiritual resources and journeys that are respectful of all belief systems. Five spiritual directors from the Congregation of Sisters of St. Agnes will guide us in exploring the landscape of spirituality.

Breakfast with Women: Energizing Spirits will be held on March 7, 2024, in downtown’s historic Hotel Retlaw. Check-in and breakfast will be available at 7:30 a.m. The event will start promptly at 8:15 a.m. with presentation, discussion, and panel questions until 9:30, after which, attendees are welcome to stay for continued reflecting and connecting with others in the room until 10:00 a.m.

Comedy Show

 

On Saturday, March 2nd, 2024 The Fond Du Lac Chapter of Wisconsin Right to Life is hosting a comedy show at Horace Mann Performing Arts Center in North Fond du Lac.

 

Comedian Andy Beningo, who was named one of the 40 Best Up and Coming Comedians in the country, as well as “Best Comedian” by both the Detroit Metro Times and Detroit Hour magazine, will be performing his clean and clever “everyman” material that centers around his wife and kids, short lived career as a middle school teacher and his aging parents dealing with technology. He has performed in all 50 US States, in Canada and in Europe, and is best known for his Drybar Comedy special, which has over 7 million views on social media. The show will feature opening act Des Mulrooney, a comedian from Chicago that made his big screen debut in the film “The Road Dog.” The show is FREE to attend, but free will donations are accepted and appreciated. The show beings at 7PM.
