  • Detentions will be served in: Mr. Schneider’s room on Monday and Wednesday
  • Student Council Announcements – Jean/ sweats day on Friday.  Polar plunge – Saturday, February 17 the student council will be sponsoring any students who would like to participate in the Polar Plunge for Special Olympics. Contact Ben Hintze or Mrs. Bartel if you are willing to take the plunge for a worthy cause or just come out and support the students who will be plunging.
  • There will be an organizational Trap Team meeting on Monday, February 19th at 7:15 in the Horace Mann High School Commons.”  If you have any questions about the Trap Shooting Team, contact Mr. Hoffmann.
  • An organizational meeting for golf team candidates will be held after school during the week of February 26th. Because of the uncertainty of the hockey schedule, it is not possible to set a date at this time.
  • High school students – please bring in snacks for children to support the Women’s Empowerment Series that is being held in our Fond du Lac community.  Bring in nonperishable snacks and place them in the collection box at the office entry of the North Hall.  Collection date is Tuesday – February 13th -which is known as Fat Tuesday – the day before Ash Wednesday and the beginning of Lent.  We will continue this collection until Friday February 16th.
  • Juniors-please remember to sign up for the ZAPS ACT prep workshop if you haven’t done so yet.  It’s being held on Friday, February 16th in the multipurpose room on 4th floor.  Please stop by the Counseling Office if you have any questions.
  • The next math meet is on Monday, February 12th at Appleton East.  We will leave at 4:45 and return around 9:30.  Please sign up in Mrs. Anderson’s room by the end of the week.

Counseling Updates

The Shirlee Cutler/FDL Softball Hall of Fame Memorial Scholarship is now available in the Counseling Office.  This is available to graduating female seniors with a 3.0 gpa and is a letter winner in a Varsity Softball program.  It’s available to students attending St. Mary’s Springs, WLA or Fond du Lac High School.

Eastern Ridge Home Builders Association $600 scholarship for students majoring in Construction Management, Architecture, Building Trades (including qualified apprenticeship programs), Engineering, Interior Design or other related fields of study relative to residential construction.

 

Parkside Elementary School is offering a scholarship to students that attended Parkside Elementary for at least one year.

 

Record Entertainment DJ & Photobooths is looking to hire a couple teens to work the photobooth at festivals, events and weddings.  Work for a fun company! Hours primarily on a Friday or Saturday evening  in late Spring and Summer. Photobooth team is responsible for setting up the booth, monitoring the camera and computer, interacting with photobooth guests.  Candidate must have good communication skills, be comfortable with the computer/camera , training provided.  Interested persons should text Jennie at 920-913-0977 or email jennie@recordentertainment.com.

 

 

South Hills Golf & Country Club is hiring Lifeguards & Pool Servers.  Pool staff must be at least 16 years of age and available to work from Memorial Day weekend to Labor day weekend.  Lifeguard certification is required by the first day of work.  Classes for certification are offered over three days beginning February 2nd at the YMCA $150/Members or $180 Nonmember.  Contact Jackie at jrunge@southhillsfdl.com or 920-921-3636 ext. 103.
