Important Upcoming Dates

Middle School Dance - October 12th

The middle school dance will be taking place this Friday, October 12, 2018 from 4-6 p.m. in the SMSA Cafeteria.

 

The theme of the dance is Costume Party!  Students are encouraged to come dressed up in a festive costume; but not required. 

 

The following are expectations/guidelines for dress at the middle school dance:

  • No inflatable costumes
  • No full face masks; for safety reasons, we must be able to identify students.
  • No costumes depicting violence, gore or anything demonic.
  • Athletic shorts can be worn if they are a part of a costume.  Shorts must be appropriate length; to the knee or 1-2 inches above.
  • Tights/leggings that are a part of a costume can only be worn if they are under another piece of clothing of appropriate length.
  • Students not participating in costume dress up can wear jeans (with no holes) with a collared, school appropriate, shirt.

 

There will be a costume contest for the most creative costume from a book/movie and best duo/group.  Gift cards to various places will be distributed to amongst the winners.  

 

Jet’s Pizza will be provided for dinner.

 

$1 for admission sold at during lunch hours leading up to the event and at the door of the event.

Scholarship Opportunity

Lands’ End Starboard Scholarship

The Lands’ End School Starboard Scholarship acknowledges and rewards students who display exceptional leadership skills.  Each winning student will receive a $10,000 scholarship.  Applications are being accepted from now until December 7, 2018.
