Friday, September 21

Spirit Wear Day

  • SMSA sweatshirt, tshirt, or polo and non-ripped jeans or dress code approved shorts/pants.  No sweats due to All System Mass in the morning.  Mass attire not required for this day!
  • All System Mass at Holy Family: 8:45 a.m.
  • High School Pep Rally: 11:45 a.m. in Hutter Gym
  • Powder Puff Girls Football Games: 1:30 p.m.*
  • Varsity Football game at Fruth Field vs. Omro:  7:00pm
Saturday, September 22
  • Homecoming Dance: 8:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. (Baker Gym)
*Times subject to change based on flow of the day

WEF (WI Education Fair) for Juniors - September 25th

Reminder Parents, permission slips are due by Friday, September 21, 2018 for your child/children to attend this event.

 

Juniors will arrive at Marian University around 9:30 a.m. for the Education Fair.  They will then arrive back at SMSA around 10:30 a.m.


The Son's of St. John

The Sons of St. John is a High School men’s group which meets once a month at Sacred Heart Church basement to talk man stuff, eat manly pizza, and drink manly chocolate milk.  This club is open to any High School guy that wants to know how to become a man of God. This year we will be watching Be A Man by Fr. Larry Richards. The program is awesome and engaging and will go through the steps of how to become a man after God’s own heart.  
When: The second Wednesday of each month 6:30-8:00 p.m.
Where: Sacred Heart Church basement
Why: Because guys hang out in basements
Who’s runnin’ the show: Fr. John, Mr. McGalloway, Mr. Hamor


Winter dance tryouts - October 5th

Varsity Dance tryouts will be held October 5, 2018 from 12:00-2 p.m.  This team is open to students grade 9th-12th.  There is a sign up form outside of Mrs. Brusky’s Art room.  There will be two dates offered to learn the dance.  Come to one or both session.

 

Learning session will be Oct 3rd and 4th 3:30-5:00 p.m.  The October 5th date is mandatory.

The Counseling Office has received several scholarships from the American Legion available for high school students. Please stop in the Counseling Office for more information. Please click here to view a list of scholarships offered.


Lands’ End Starboard Scholarship

The Lands’ End School Starboard Scholarship acknowledges and rewards students who display exceptional leadership skills.  Each winning student will receive a $10,000 scholarship.  Applications are being accepted from now until December 7, 2018.

College/University Visits

Carroll University Open House – September 22nd

Carrol University will be hosting an Open House Saturday, September 22, 2018.  Individual visits are welcome throughout the year Monday – Friday from 9 a.m. – 3p.m. and Group visits are welcome most Saturdays from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.  For more information on the Open House please visit, www.carrollu.edu.  Can’t make it this weekend?  Stay tuned for other Open House dates during the school year.


Ripon College Visit – September 24th

A representative from Ripon College will be in the Counseling Office on Monday, September 24th during 3rd period.  Anyone wanting to learn more about Ripon College should get a pass in the Counseling Office.


UW River Falls College Visit – September 24th

A representative from UW River Falls will be in the Counseling Office on Monday, September 24th during 7th period.  Anyone wanting to learn more about UW-River Falls should get a pass in the Counseling Office.


Wisconsin Education Fair – September 25th

The entire Junior class will be attending the Wisconsin Education Fair at Marian University on Tuesday, September 25th, 9 a.m.-11 a.m.  Over 100 representatives from various colleges, universities, trade schools and the military will be on hand to meet with your students.

National College Fair in Milwaukee – September 30th

Free and open to the public, National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC) will be hosting a National College Fair in Milwaukee September 30th from 3 p.m. – 6 p.m. at the Wisconsin Center.  Connect with hundreds of colleges and universities in one location. UW Oshkosh offers ACT Test Prep – Starting October 13th

ACT Test Prep is being offered by UW Oshkosh on Saturdays beginning  October 13th through November 17th from 9 a.m. – noon on the UW Oshkosh campus.  Cost is $200.  The winter session is from January 12 -February 16, 2019 or complete the prep course 100% online.  Visit them online by clicking here or call 920-424-1129.


Discover Moraine Park – October 17th

The Fond du Lac Moraine Park Campus will be hosting  “Discover Moraine Park” on Wednesday, October 17, 2018.  Walk in from 4:00-6:00 pm. It features classroom visits, Financial Aid Workshops (3:30-6:30) and college services.  Any questions, please contact Erin at 920-924-3204.


St. Norbert College Music Scholarship Audition Dates
