This year’s musical The Sound of Music will be performed Friday April 13th at 7pm, Saturday April 14th at 7pm, and Sunday April 15th at 1pm at the North Fond du Lac Horace Mann PAC.  Tickets are $10 for adults, $7 for senior citizens and students. Tickets will be $12 at the door for adults but will remain the same for senior citizens and students. Online tickets can be purchased at www.hometowntickets.com

Forensic Speech and Acting Team Tournament

SMSA hosted their first Forensic Tournament with seven schools and approximately 40 judges, coaches, and drivers.  There were over 120 performers who created 96 entries.

This year, SMSA is very excited to announce we have 12 entries; 2 1/2 times more than the previous year. We began selecting performance pieces last fall and rehearsals began in earnest following Christmas break.

SMSA teachers and staff were generous in allowing us to use the entire third floor, many second floor classrooms, and computer and art rooms.

A special thank you goes out to: Mr. Smith, Dr. Shively, Mr. & Mrs. Karrmann, Mrs. Bartel, Ms. Haugen, Mr. Thompson, Mr. Hoffmann, Mr. and Mrs. Vach, Mrs. Wiza, Mr. Schaeffer, Mrs. Hoepfner, Mrs. Bellows and Mrs. Rose and to our SMSA team for being amazing Ambassadors.

The judging was tough, but our team had great scores despite recently returning from spring break.

Our District Festival is this Saturday, March 24th in Platteville…wish us luck!  Followed by the State Competition on Friday, April 20th in Madison.
