Session: ACT PREP COURSE 2019

The UW Fond du Lac ACT Prep Course will take place Saturday, March 16, 23 and 30, 2019.  Total contact hours will be 12 hours.

Dates and Subject:

March 16th (Intro/English/Reading/Writing) 8 a.m. – 12 noon

March 23rd (Science/Math) 8 a.m. – 12 noon

March 30th (Practice Test) 8 a.m. – 12 noon

This course is designed to assist students in time for upcoming testing dates.

• Take this course when you need it most, just prior to taking the actual ACT exam, so you are less likely to forget what you have learned.
• Pinpoint your strengths and weaknesses by taking a diagnostic practice test to determine what areas you need to brush-up on before taking the actual exam.

To celebrate the Annunciation of our Lord (March 25, 2019), students are allowed to dress in jeans (no holes or sweatpants) along with a spirit wear top.

Students are also allowed to wear a green top instead of a spirit top in honor of Trent Schueffner’s birthday.

Students not wanting to participate in the Spirit and Jeans Day are asked to wear their uniform.

A mandatory meeting for parents and students going to Costa Rica will be held on Thursday, March 28, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. in the Multi Purpose Room (4th floor).

During Lent (from now until Thursday, April 18, 2019) The National Junior Honor Society will be organizing the Catholic Relief Services (CRS) Rice Bowl fundraiser for grades 6 – 12.  CRS Rice Bowl is a faith-in-action program that offers each of us to engage, on a daily basis, with the Spiritual Pillars of Lent: prayer, fasting and almsgiving.  NJHS members will distribute a “rice bowl” to every classroom, grades 6-12.  Donations of spare change or better yet, change given in honor of those in our world who suffer and need our support, can be placed in the little box. 

Please send your child/children with spare change to donate to the fundraiser from now until April 18th.

Badger State World Affairs Seminar

Junior parents, please discuss Badger Boys State, Badger Girls State and World Affairs Seminar with your student.  Time is drawing near as to when we need to get students registered if they’re interested in attending this year. Badger Boys State is June 8-15, Badger Girls State is June 16-21 and World Affairs Seminar is June 22-28, 2019.

BCI Burke Seeking Summer Seasonal Help

BCI Burke is looking for summer seasonal help to work in departments such as Paint Line, Shipping and Receiving, Machine Shop and other departments as assigned.

Must be 16 years of age or older. Employees will begin work when available in May or early June and work through the end of August.

Volunteer and Service Hour Opportunity

The AAUW Used Book Sale is looking for volunteers to help move tables, unload books, arrange books, etc. They’re looking for help on Monday, March 18th from 2:00 p.m. – 7:00 p. m., Tuesday, March 19th, from 9:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. and Wednesday, March 20th, from 9:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.

Please report to the Recreation Building at the fairgrounds. These volunteer hours will qualify as indirect service hours.

Wisconsin Timber Rattlers Career in Sports Fair – Thursday, April 25th

The Timber Rattlers are offering an opportunity for students/young professionals looking for a career in the sports industry. 

On Thursday, April 25, 2019 the Timber Rattlers will be hosting a Career in Sports night with panel discussion and job fair/networking event.

Tickets are $15 if purchased before April 1, 2019 and include a ticket to the game that night. Tickets will then increase to $20.

Joan Setser Scholarship

Mr. Charles Setser, a long-time member of Holy Family Catholic Community, has created a scholarship opportunity for four St. Mary’s Springs Academy current eighth grade students, who will be enrolled in the ninth grade at St. Mary’s Springs Academy for the 2019-2020 school year, and who, along with their parents/guardians, are active members of Holy Family Catholic Community.  Mr. Setser designated this scholarship in memory of his wife, Joan Setser, who passed away in 2017.
