Catholic Schools: a National Treasure

Starting Monday January 27th – 31st, we will celebrate Catholic Schools Week 2020!  Across the country, Catholic schools will be acknowledged for historically significant contributions to advancing American society and culture through their hallmark dedication to providing students with holistic education – and always treating young people as unique, valued individuals, created in God’s image.  Catholic schools have helped to influence and shape American society for more than 200 years.
At SMSA, we have a busy week of special schedules and activities planned.  Please click here to view the full list of activities.  Perhaps you can join us for a special Catholic School Week Mass at Holy Family on Friday, January 31st at 8:45 a.m.  At that time, we will celebrate alongside other Catholic school partners from within our Archdiocesan deanery.

Thank you for choosing and supporting Catholic education for your children.  Thank you for trusting SMSA to provide a nurturing and holistic environment where students are free to develop their gifts and share their imagination, passions and faith. Our Ledgers are terrific, and serving their needs is a privilege for me and the faculty and staff of SMSA.  I pray daily that they may encounter the living God during their days on the Ledge.  Your children will make a positive difference in the world in many and varied ways.   Your investment in their Catholic school education at the Springs will return many blessings!

March for Life - January 22nd - 26th

Seven students and three faculty members are traveling to Washington DC for the annual March for Life – on the anniversary of Roe vs. Wade.  From January 22nd – 26th our “Ledgers for Life”  will participate with others from Wisconsin Right to Life in a rally on the National Mall with more than 100,000 participants from across the country – all standing up for the dignity of the human person from womb to tomb – a consistent ethic of life which is a hallmark of the Catholic faith tradition.  During their Washington visit, students and faculty will also visit the National Holocaust Museum to examine the effects of man’s inhumanity to man as displayed in meaningful and moving exhibits.  Students will be documenting their trip and preparing presentations about the experience.

Watch for opportunities to hear from this group of Ledgers and learn about their March for Life experiences and encounters.
