NAMI Basics Education Program
The National Alliance on Mental Illness, NAMI, is offering a free, six-class program designed for parents/family caregivers of children and adolescents with emotional and behavioral difficulties; with or without a mental health diagnosis.
Classes will be held Tuesday, February 13-March 20, 2018, 6:30-9:00 pm , at Friendship Corner, 21 E. 2nd St. Suite 104, Fond du Lac, WI.

Want to learn more about Spark Youth Apprenticeship Program? Spark is a statewide initiative for High School students who want hands-on learning. This learning will be in an area of career interest at the work-site as well as classroom instruction.
Below are parent information sessions to attend:

The ZAPS ACT Test-Prep Seminar will be held at St. Mary’s Springs Academy High School on Friday, February 16th from 8:15am-2:15pm. The cost is $89.99. The junior class parents will be receiving a letter in the mail regarding this in the near future.


There will be a Catholic College Fair held at Central High School in Burlington, WI on Monday, March 12th, from 6:00-7:30pm. Their goal is to have the largest and best Catholic College Fair in Wisconsin!

Paul Mitchell the School Green Bay
Paul Mitchell the School Green Bay will be holding an Open House on Tuesday, March 27th from 5-7 pm. Visit them during this coast-to-coast event and discover how to build a future in the beauty industry. They will also be giving away one million dollars in scholarships in this national campaign.


Michels Corporation is sponsoring a Michels Career Exploration Day on May 8th for Middle School and May 9th for High School. This experience is ideal for students exploring careers in welding, power line installation, horizontal directional drilling, gas distribution pipeline, equipment operation, auto body mechanics, robotics and drones. The event will be held at 817 Main Street, Brownsville, WI. The timeline is from 9:00am -1:00pm.

UW Oshkosh pre-college programs provide academic and development courses along with personal growth activities to help Middle and High School students prepare for college.
Students live in a residence hall for all pre-college sessions. Meals are provided in the campus dining facility, Blackhawk Commons, or at off-campus sites during field trips. Scholarships are available for qualified students. Session I is June 17-29. Session II is July 1-13.

The WI Lions Camp is looking for campers and staff to join them this summer, 2018. Applications, camp schedule and information are all available at: www.wisconsinlionscamp.com or 715-677-4969. The Kettle Moraine State Forest-Northern Unit is in the process of recruiting employees for the 2018 summer season. Applicants must be 17 and older for a wide variety of positions. Interview opportunities are through March. More information in the Counseling Office.


Hiring Lifeguards & Pool Servers at South Hills Golf & Country Club
South Hills Golf & Country Club is hiring lifeguards & pool servers. Pool staff must be at least 16 years of age and available to work from Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day weekend. Lifeguard certification is required by the first day of work. Classes for certification are offered over three days beginning Feb. 2nd at the YMCA ($150 Member or $180/Nonmember).

SEEKING Responsible, Fun, Personable Individuals!
Record Entertainment DJ & Photobooths is looking to hire a couple teens to work the photobooth at festivals, events and weddings.

Work for a fun company! Hours primarily on Friday or Saturday evenings in late spring and summer. Photobooth team is responsible for setting up the booth, monitoring the camera/computer, & interacting with photobooth guests. Candidate must have good communication skills, be comfortable with the computer/camera, training is provided.

The Cops for Kid’s Foundation Youth Scholarship is available in the Counseling Office.  This is available to seniors who reside in Fond du Lac County.

 

Hazel L. Stephenson Scholarship
The Counseling Office has received the updated Hazel L. Stephenson Scholarship which is available to FdL County graduated who will be college freshmen or are continuing students in an undergraduate program at a UW System campus.


WI Sports Awards Scholarship Contest
The Wisconsin Sports Awards is an exclusive VIP event celebrating Wisconsin’s athletes in high school, collegiate and professional arenas. Any senior graduating in 2018, with a cumulative grade point average of 3.5, has participated in a WIAA sanctioned sport and was involved in civic and/or community organizations or activities during their high school career are encouraged to apply.


Winnebago County Master Gardeners Scholarship
The Winnebago County Master Gardeners Association is excited to provide a $1,000 scholarship to graduating seniors residing in Winnebago County. Qualifying seniors must plan to study horticulture, landscaping, agriculture, forestry, natural resources or other areas approved by Scholarship Committee and Board.

Lois Thull Memorial Scholarship
Lois Thull Memorial Scholarship is accepting applications from seniors who have graduated from St. Matthew School and are planning to pursue a degree in a “helping profession”. It is a one time, $1,000 scholarship. Areas of study include, but are not limited to: medicine, nursing, psychology, counseling, education, ministry and social work


DePrey-Skyline Family Information Technology Scholarship is available to college-bound students pursuing a degree in a computer-related field.


The American Legion Auxiliary Unit 222 is offering a $500 scholarship for a veteran/member/child or grandchild or an American Legion or Auxiliary member based within 30 miles of Fond du Lac County. Must have at least a 3.0 GPA and enrolled in a tuition based educational institution.


The Wisconsin Electronic Security Association is offering two college scholarships to sons and daughters of active-duty police and fire personnel. More information in the Counseling Office.
